My experience with Strup axleback thus far
Ok I FINALLY GOT IT ON!!! wooo! sounds awesome. I took it to a local muffler shop around here called Muffler Tech. They do great work, when I had my supras I got my cat-back's done over there. Anywho the problem with the strup was the bell shape end where the exhaust clamps on. The bend at the pipe where it hooks up to the b-pipe was bent wrong. All in all it cost me 65 dollars for Muffler Tech to mount it and have them cut off the bell shape end and weld another one on that fit properly. Hopefully Charlie at Strup will be willing to reimburst me for the cost of the mounting and welding. Anywho besides the minor problem of the exhaust I love it!
Well I wanted to buy a exhaust that I could install myself with no complications and people on this forum were really saying great things about Strup. Unfort. my Strup wasn't such an easy install and costed me another 65 dollars. Im just hoping Charlie from Strup is willing to help me out. But the Strup exhaust does sound good and look good.

Danger - I havn't called him but I have been corresponding with him via e-mail. I just sent him the invoice from the muffler shop, hopefully good news will arrive tomorrow.

fitment at the axle end depends on a couple things.
One...how many miles on the exhaust gasket donut...they tend to wear down and break apart.
Two....aiming the exhaust tip. its best done with 2 people. One person hold the tip in the center of the bumper hole...the other clamping the exhaust to the stock portion. so far i have never had a problem with the 10 plus i've installed from not being centered. I'm not saying that an exhaust hanger doesn't get bent slightly by a shipping company...but what happened to some of your bumpers is installation issues. The very first Strup i installed on my own vehicle(its the sound clip on the site) touched the bumper hole. Once i saw this i realized what it was...it was the stock clamp attachment point. Think about it...its what... 3 plus feet long. if that attachment over the axle is off by 1/8"...its off by a good distance once it exits the bumper hole.

Too all those that do not know...Darren aka hotbox and I are good buds outside of the forums, this is why he likes to give me shiet...infact he was one of my inspirations to snag one of these cars.
Lip- I have been waiting for a reply via e-mail from you since I first addressed this problem. I'm not sure if you have read through all of my posts in this thread but this is what has happened so far. I waited on e-mail replies after a 3 hour attempt on installing this axle back. I had TWO people try to install it the first time around and yet the exhaust still would not mount correctly. So after not hearing anything back from either you or charlie before the weekend I took my car into a professional muffler shop here in Sacramento called Muffler Tech. I had them first try to mount the exhaust without any modifications to see if it was a error done by us. This however was not the case. MufflerTech had to cut off the bell shaped end and re-weld a new one on there to fit where the exhaust clamp goes on. If the exhaust would have fit PROPERLY without modifications then I would have paid 65 dollars with no complaints and no one to blame other then myself. But since I had to pay 65 dollars to modify the exhaust I don't think that it is right for a consumer to have to buy an already expensive piece of equipment then have to spend more money for it to truly fit. This problem with the 65 dollars is already being talked with to Charlie...
Also Lip my car was purchased with 30 miles on the odometer on October 7th 2005, so I highly doubt that the donut for the exhaust is bad considering when I installed the exhaust on my car it had roughly 700 miles on it.
Any word on my headers yet?

I know I'm late on the fitment posting, but here it goes anyway. When I got my Strup axle back v2. I had to do a move the brackets on both the muffler and the car. I don't think it was a quality issue. When I got the box one of the hangers was sticking out of the box. After close examination I signed for it. I work at a garage so modifing the exhaust is not a problem for me. Anyway, I know the axle back was either thrown or dropped, the tip was flat on the upper right side. Luckly one of the mechanics here had an idea and we fixed that. I don't blame strup or partshippers the product was nicely made and the customer service was more then I expected. I blame it on the shipping company.
Fitment wise if you have the time, just bend the brackets a little and it should fit right. Anyone who has ever worked on a car will tell you aftermarket or OEM don't always fit perfectly. I'm pretty **** about this stuff I put my car on the lift three times before I got it right. Yeah it sits a little close to the upper lip of the bumper but it doesn't burn it, no harm no foul.
