Default new CAI, boggs bad only in 1st?

this is my third intake install and the first time ive encountered any problem like this. its the ingen RD2105P, all hoses and connections are tight n' snug and the MAS is seated properly, ive double and triple checked. after 1st it drives like normal tho even when picking up from low RPMs. i figured this would be a common issue and easy to search and fix being as ive heard this several times before but i cant find nothin. any help or suggestions please?

might be a dirty maf.....even if its only in first worth a check. also the throttle body might need to be cleaned.
2 easiest and cheapest things to fix/check.
also did u reset the ecu when u installed it?

Make sure you reset the ECU.

ECU was reset initially but i did it again this morning. i got to work and pulled out the trusty OBDII to see an assortment of codes, 14 to be exact. i dont recall any of the exact code numbers but they ranged from misfires in all cyl. to running to lean. i cleared them and took it for a good 30min drive for my lunch and the CEL came on again, i checked it this time and only pulled 2 codes, both for running to lean. once again i reset these codes and the ECU. it ran fine all the way home with no codes and thats about a 40mi drive, so i guess i see how she is on tomorrow mornings trip...

are these just idiot codes you think? cuz i didnt notice a single misfire but the codes read 8 misfires.

When you reset the ECU, it's a good idea to turn the car on and let it idle for a few minutes until the revs level out.

Odds are, the ECU was freaking out because it wasn't prepared for the increase in airflow to the MAF.

well i tried dropping the fender pipe and just going SR on the intake and it seemed to iron away all the kinks accept 1, it kinda kicks and bucks while in neutral(hops about 100rpm every 10-30 sec or so), basically when its not moving, its just weird and retarded. something so simple as an intake giving me problems??? and here's a weird one: it runs smoother when the CEL is on, it doesnt buck at all no matter if im moving or not?
