Instead of making brain dead comments like everyone else has, why don't people try helping this guy out? I hope this whole forum won't turn to crap--must be all the newBs thinking they know what's up. Please, this isn't what this forum is about--go to club si if you want to be a part of that stuff.

There have been a couple of xB's with Nitrous setups...but Ryan from Cabe Scion is the only one that I know of that has actually Dynoed his car while spraying. It seems that he got about 150 Whp compared to stock estimates of about 95 Whp...so yea, it makes a pretty significant difference! I would be careful running a setup like that though, as we don't know too much about the specifics of the entire thing.

Very well said JDMxB. It is getting out of hand, and the mods should step in and say something :?

you are 100% right i am sorry for the post above(it just reminded me about F&F ) nitrous will make a difference if you set it up right, i would not go over a 50 hp set up our engines are not made for high performance, remember ryan just installed his set up less than a month ago, he can still run into big problems in the future. if you plan on doing this i would try to beef up the internals (pistons, cam, fuelsystem, and anything else first. ) that way the engine will be better equiped to handle the sudden HP gain. this is just my 2 cents ! any one else?

Nasty burn up top

I wouldn't just slap on any nitrous setup because although Ryan is the only one to have his dyno tested, he is also the only one who paid to have his car profesionally tuned to make sure that everything was set right to run a 50 shot properly. Watch out cuz you might not be lucky running a 50 shot in your car.

Just because you see specs in a magazine and copy them, doesn't mean your gunna get the same results

well said joe it is all in the tuning guys remember that. form what i have seen NOS or other systems make thier set up rich as a safety. my car had all kind of sensors and computers hook up to it to make sure each pass was safe this week we will push 100 shot safely again i hope. but not to worry i have faith in my tuner plus the apex controller 2 is a very good monitor for air/fuel as well as knock detect. i will k3eep u all posted ok and adrian u havent felt nothin yet mmmmmmmmmmmmuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default nos

i dont particularly see nos as cheating, as long as the party your racing knows you are running it. Most cars i seen built w/ nos in mind actually run great. I ran a 75 shot nos on my rav4 and it was fun...still slow but fun haha. Does anyone know if ryan is running a dry or wet shot for 50? I'm assuming a dry shot. I'm sure his motor is fine if he squeezes every now and then as long as he doesnt do it every time he drives the car. I use to hit the button for the hell of it in my rav4 and it did fine. I'm sure the scion can handle it to an extent. Just make sure u have some temp and fuel pressure guages installed in the car so you can see whats going on w/ the motor. Also good idea to invest in the "cutoff" unit they sell as soon as fuel becomes a little deficient. But yeah you can run nos. I was thinking bout hookin in my setup i have leftover from my last showcar into the box, but havent found the urge due to my schedule...well i blame it more on laziness. But yeah, go for it, just make sure its installed right and not half @$$ed.

Default just a matter of perception

I dunno, we used to boo cars at the street races on tuxford back in 89 when theyd roll up with nos, just because so many people would rely on it just to win... but whatever tickles your pickle...

I look at it as a matter of what you can do with what we have chosen..

in this engine short of forced induction there isn't much we can do to add more than 10hp, but even forced induction you are going to be limited to about additional 50hp without some serious reinforcement. On top of that that high level of boost going all the time will basically render your car an all time racecar, not that it's a bad thing, but just something to consider..

with Nitrous you can probably engineer a better ideal, power when you want it without driving a racecar all of the time...

the only other option that I can think of is an engine transplant, which while being mega power possibilities would probably be head and shoulders more expensive, but with possible huge results
