OK, i have seen a few picture of the Perrin intake, and it seems like it might be ok, but I want to know who has it, and how it performs.
I currently have the Spfr intake, but would like to try something else.

Yeah, the bend is right in fornt of the throttle body. Bends cause turbulence, so I'm wondering how effective it would actaully be. Plus it apears to be silicone hose except where the MAF nounts.
Looks fine... yeah, looks.
IMO, it is going to be intaking mass amounts of heat. That thing sits right above the alternator. Where is the cold air expected to come from? Little cold air fairy's?
I give it an A for presentation, but a D-/F for performance. I don't like foam filters either.

Somebody out there that knows more about this than me please add to this..... My understanding is that a longer runner on the intake tube will tend to increase bottom end torque and throttle response, just like longer runners in headers will do the same. Personally, I find that is the area I would most like to see a power improvement in with my xb. Mine is an auto and once in 2nd and 3rd gear it seems to need a little bit more power at times.
If there would be some way to put a set of headers in with longer 4-2-1 runners I am sure that would help also, but you would have to move the cat back about 6 to 10 inches.
