The PERRIN Performance air intake system is designed for form and function. Manufacturing one of the only properly positioned and sized MAF sensor adaptors for the scion, Perrin intakes are able to achieve higher horsepower numbers then our competitors. PERRIN intake systems use colorful silicone tubing to dress up the engine bay and fight heat soak. Flexible silicone tubes make installation easy and prevent wear damage at contact points. Kit includes a silicone intake tube, PERRIN foam air filter, MAF sensor housing, and mounting hardware.

couldnt find any specs for it in the xb. mostly for sti's. significant power gains, but a signifantly more powerful engine.

Thats what i was talking about, nice pics. Well it's a nice looking intake. But it's position in the engine bay could be better, I dont know how much colder air it will get. Unless you change grills out( its kind of hard to tell how low it sits in), you may not get as cold of air as if it where behind the foglight covers like and Injen, YDR or AEM ones.

yeah i found some nice open grilles to put in by Street Scene. HAWAIIANBUILT has them installed on his box along with a handfull of others. it was exactally the look i was going for and it would allow max airflow to the filter and also to the silicone, although its supposed to stay cool enough.

and naturally ill be painting the grilles black sand pearl. no way will i stray from scion color schemes. plus it looks amazing against the bcp.

Allright give it a shot just make sure you change the grills out to get the most out of the intake. Good luck and let us know how you like it once you get it.

One last concern is the radiator going to burn that filter, may want to check on that, melting is bad.

ill just make a makeshift heatshield to put below it or something..or i could use the one that im taking off in the first place and mount it between the piping and the radiator

Is there any kind of bypass valve or something to protect against water intake? If not then having it behind an open grille is not a good idea...
Otherwise, I love the way the intake looks, especially the red one.

I didn't even think about a bypass because of water( i was to busy looking at other features), good point Donovan. I think AEM sells bypasses by themselves. As long as the pipe sizes match up you should be good, other than having to cut such a pretty intake to put the bypass in.

If you decide against the Perrin and want to look at more traditional intakes, I highly recommend the Fujita short ram.

i was actually looking into it. i havent read anything on an included bypass valve, but considering it is positioned right behind the grille im sure it has some sort of protection.

ill send them an e-mail tonight and hopefully get a response soon.

then again. water may not be too much trouble. i could just plug the main hose when im washing it and put it back on. i live in phoenix arizona AKA the city as dry as a saltine cracker, water shouldnt be a problem. but i might as well have a bypass just incase.

do you think i will see an OK performance gain using this with the stock grill? I am trying to decide between this and the injen sri. I like what people have said about the injen, but i really like the looks of the Perrin.

I'd rethink this. Looks like a hot air intake being so close to the headers.

The only way you would get enough water in there would be to drive in the river,And by that time the car would die from everything else getting wet.
Unless you totaly submerge the filter in water it will not hydrolock.
