power
Highflow cat, header, lightweight pully, lightweight flywheel, lightweight rims, take out all unneccessary items in the car (like a big system in the trunk). U can get these cars to move pretty well, but they aren't gonna snap ur neck.

and a stage 4 or 5 clutch should do the trick
6 inch widebody kit, custom fender flares, 9" tires in the front and rear. Spot weld the chassis, reinforce the engine frame area. Upgrade front axles, you'll need stronger ones. Pull out 1NZ-FE + trans. Call up somebody who's good with car computers and somebody who knows how to fabricate their stuff. Now call up GM and order a 2007 Chevy Impala/Monte Carlo SS engine+transmission. Proceed to do 5.3L V8 swap. Replace the exhaust system, go true dual. Bam, power!
...oh, wait. You wanted cheap.
...uhm...
Sell your xB on Ebay and buy a late model Z28.

well honda has a 1.6 (1587cc) that make's 160 hp... also a 1.7 (1678 cc) so liters are useless...
Cheap ebay header (ceramic) gives gains across the whole power board-it's like $45 and then you need to buy the bolts so you don't crack the flange (they are like $7 each)
