Default question on the injen cold air intake

does the injen cold air intake hang low enough to have the bypass valve. I dont want my engine to hydrolock. I also herd that the injen cold air intake does not fit right on the 06 model. Is this true.

Yes i will need some modifications you would need to do the VSV is different on the 06 from the 05's and also the cold air intake is where the filter will be inside the bumber....it it almost as low as the bottom grill so it is pretty low!

i havent had any hydrolock issues on my CAI. Ive had it for a couple of months and i live in a very rainy place, so i can say there is no problem with water.

i have a short ram intake pipe from ebay and and AEM dry flow filter. the SR intake pipe i have is identical to the injen and the ydr pipes. puts the filter right below the left headlamp. this is a kick ___ set up and i love it. i would recommend this over the CAI which puts the filter much closer to the ground. its easier to install the SR intake and it operates great. don't have to worry about the rain as much!

oh yea and i have an 06 xb. the VSV switch is different so i had to use a zip tie to fix it to the L piece that is shipped with the SR intake kit.
