Default question on the magnaflow axle back

I just installed the magnaflow axle back on my Xb and the sound is really nice. I do have one question though...when I tap the throttle, there is a slight noise like a suck or swish...any idea what this is? It is only when I first touch the gas and goes away as soon as the revs climb. My first thought is "loose brackets" and so maybe there is an air leak? I'm going to jack it up and recheck the two connections tomorrow. Any advice would be appreciated.

thanks

Andy

Default Mmmmm

I hear the exact same noise using a Magnaflow axle back. I checked for exhust leaks but found none. I traced it back to my AEM intake which is probably sucking in more air now that the exhaust can get rid of it easier..LOL!

I did change my intake last week to the injen. It didn't alter the throttle sound at that time. It sounds like the combo of the new magnaflow and the intake may cause the sound? My wife was helping find the source and felt it was near the intake as well. Any more thoughts? Is it just something to live with?

I thought I had a leak also after adding headers and a Strup muffler. I had my wife sit in the car and hit the gas while I had the box on jack stands. The noise is loudest near the headlight right where the intake is.

Sounds like the intake is just makin' more noise. Mine's the same, and I haven't found any leaks. I think it's something you'll have to get used to.

Thats your intake making that noise. When an exhaust system is installed on a vehicle with intake, the intake sounds a bit louder. Nothing to worry about, just a good powerful noise. :D

Andy,

The noise you hear is from your intake. You have a better flowing system now that you have an intake and an axleback exhaust.
