Default Resonator

Have you guys heard of the new Hush Power 2 Resonators by Flowmaster? IF you have, are they a good product? Or should I go with MagnaFlo?

Check it out http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...9609fbaf48890b

Hulks,

Heard of it but didn't have room to put it on the car. I do have the Hushpower II muffler on, installed mid body where the stock resonator usually goes. The muffler is pretty loud though, and does tend to resonate at 2k on it's own. What I ended up doing is putting an Apexi silencer in my exhaust tip, it helped out unbelievably, I went from wearing earplugs to drive to just turing the radio up three clicks. Oh, I did run custom 2 1/4 piping cat back w/ a header so that is certainly not helping with the noise.

BTW, I'm running with a wheelchair lift that blocks the stock exhaust location, so if you're looking at the Magnaflow that is pre-fitted I couldn't tell you what it sounds like. Just curious, why are you looking at the Hushpower resonator? Do you need a 12" and others won't fit?

vettereddie,

How could it not fit under your car? its a pretty small Resonator. I was just thinking about going with the hush power 2 just to try some thing different. I wasnt really depending on the length of it. I was just going to replace the OEM resonator with the hush power since I do have 2.25 pipping also, and headers, and intake.

Well, the only place I could mount the resonator would be behind the rear axle. Unfortunately, with the ramp the pipe was moved closer to the rear wheel, so I start having space issues with the suspension. it's about 15" to the back of the bumper from where the bend stops behind the rear axle, and only 5 1/2" of width between the ramp edge and the rear tire. That's why the actual muffler is mounted mid-body.
