Rough idle after header install.
I installed one of those generic eBay SS headers a week or so ago and I notice it idles rougher than it did before the install. I don't notice it so much when the car is in park or when I'm driving, but it is very apparent when I am in gear at a stop sign. I haven't had a check engine light yet for the header install or the short ram install, either. Would it make sense to reset the ECU anyway? Does anyone know wether this will fix the problem or what will?
TIA,
Mike

I'd try the reset. And on startup after resetting, let it idle for 10-15 minutes with occasional light revving. Gives the ECU a chance to make sense of what's there. That's where I'd start at least. Also, make sure your not getting an exhaust leak around the header and check to make sure the axleback portion of your exhaust is not touching the lip...
Regarding problems with headers, I was told that to make a header most effective, the ECU would need to be enhanced with at least a piggyback. Can anyone confirm this? Cuz all this time I thought that plugging in a header was the same as plugging in an intake
