Default Is it Safe to run a Blitz Supercharger?

i was just wondering if its safe to run a blitz sc on the 05 xB cause i was considering boosting it with a turbo but people have been say its not safe for the tranny or the rods. i was just wondering if the sc is alittle more safe.

I've heard some dealerships out here had the blitz s/c installed
on xB to show off, and they have been running for at least a
year with them.

I'd consider it, but the quote I got was like $4600 for it installed.

$4,600 for 10-15 hp is way out of control! I was told by a local speed shop that specializes in Scions to wait until after SEMA this year and Greddy would be re-releasing thier turbo kit for the XB with a engine management system that works this time @ 30+ hp. The superchager sure does look cool under the hood, but way to pricey for the output.

Boost is boost. You are still cramming air into the cumbustion chamber. They both roughly add about 15-20% more horsepower. The only difference is that there woudl be a little lag time on the turbo whereas you will have instant boost on the s/c charger since it is belt driven.

ahhh but there is a difference.. the blitz supercharger isn't much more than 6 psi as it stands.. so its blown not boosted.. anything 8 and up is boosted.

The thing to remember with superchargers is that it takes power to make power.. the turbo is using exhaust gases to make power so that's the trade off with the turbo and supercharger.

the other thing is because the supercharger is belt driven its a little more controlled. The turbo can spike psi when the temp changes outside of the car.. that happened to a friend of mine.. the motor got toasted because the psi spiked just once on a cold day. I don't know how cold it gets where you live though so it may or may not be a good thing.

Wow, the Blitz is only 10-15hp!!!

Forget it then. I was told about 40HP, which makes the
cost seem more applicable.

I'll wait for the Turbo kit then. I'm a big fan of turbo, and
always have been.

the blitz gets 126 whp. so thats more than 30whp improvement. and yes it's safe. if trd ever makes a supercharger xa/xb kit it WILL be the blitz.

4300? where are people getting that price? you can get blitz s/c's for 2800 and install aint much of anything to anyone who's worked on cars before.

yeah it isnt alot of hp but... it's a show winner and is still faster than n/a scions.

1zz swap with trd supercharger plus some other mods and bam almost 200whp. and the trd 1zz supercharger is only like 1920.99

When you say easy to install what do you mean? pull motor?

Does it replace the intake manifold? Does my AEM CAI attach to the supercharger?

Does installing one void my warranty?

thanks,

thanks,

dont need to pull motor, replacing the exhaust manifold, and turbo manifold, if you get a super charger you dont need to pull manifold though and it will void your warranty unless theres a dealer that sells it from factory

ALSO i have a friend who works for greddy and he quit about 2 weeks ago and i guess they were just taking the greddy supercharger to the dyno, dunno if this is true or not

for a blitz s/c you do not pull motor . It does replace the intake manifold , your aem intake can be modified to fit the blitz unit.
void warranty. umm basically but it's always a case by case basis.

the down side of the blitz is that you need to reposition the dip stick and the ac line that runs by the pulleys has to be changed to a flexable one and it still rubs a bit on the belt

also any engine cover you have will need to be modified

yes . but it's a bit more of a pain to instal. I'd rock it. the pe s/c is also more expensive. and doesnt have a selectable boost like the blitz. but it does put out a bit more power.
