scion xa has oil in my air filter?

scion xa has oil in my air filter?

I just bought a scion xa and the oil filter is full of oil. the mass air flow meter was also covered.

I'm not sure whats wrong but thought someone might have seen this before.
is the pvc bad or something?

Bad PVC would be my first guess. But check the oil level. If they massively overfilled it the engine may have "burped" it into the air filter.

well i got it from nyc would the stop and go traffic cause this? Its pretty soaked

well it only has 59k on it. It drives great and I got it for 4k so I'll find out whats wrong with it. just was a little p*ssed about the oil in the air filter

yes the oil filter is suppose to have oil in it

yeah sorry that was a typo. found the oil was coming from the crank case vent. I cleaned that and haven't had an issue with oil saturating my air filter
