Tanabe SM Hyper Exhaust, can I do a Self Install or??
Will it be a hassle to install the Tanabe SM Hyper myself?? I have run out of spending money heh. There's no welding right??
I have a pair of ramps in the gurage
PS: I am really serious. I have never installed a thing in a car. Changed a tire once why I ask since if it's not to hard I will do it. I am not bad with my hands.

you can do it.
the axle-back was one of the easies things on the xB. mine took less than 15 min, and I did it in situ.
you have one mounting bracket (10mm bolt, i think) that holds the pipe ends together, and two exhaust hangers.
if you've never messed with exhaust hangers before, you might have problems, but I will tell you my secret: tire shine.
soak the exhaust hanger posts with tire shine. armor all works, and perhaps better is dish soap, because it breaks down easily in water, but I am an instant gratification kind of person, and I use tire shine.
the hangers just pop right out, and the new exhaust pops right in.

Heh, cool thanks! I duppose installing my M2 racing headers will be much harder? I think I will actually worry about them when they come in the mail.
Thanks all.[/quote]
I did my own header install. Not for the meek. I almost gave up 5 times. Almost stripped bolts. That being said, it you have the right tools and take your time it can be done.
I've done, spring, swaybars, bushings, instake, shifter bushing, steering wheel, LED light and some other stuff all myself. The header was by far the most difficult (but rewarding) mod.

axle back 10mm or a 12mm, i can't remember - 15 min done, no jack needed

I had to buy a breaker bar to get the b-pipe bolts off. I had a hard time getting the header bolts off and almost stripped the bolt heads on 2 of them.

Thanks again guys. Yeah I think I will try to get the funds together to have the header installed OR do it with a friend who I can assist.
I am gonna take a shot at installing the Exhaust Saturday.

UPDATE!
Ok, I am a bit peeved since I got everything set up. Lifted the rear and after about 10 min I knew I had to wait and ask about how the hell I can take out the OEM muffler with these rubber things??
grrr
Grrrrrrrrr
They should be pretty straight forward but the angle and position of my body just will not let it happen with the tools I have. Is there a special tool for this??

I used a very small screw driver and sprayed some lube in bushing. Pull on the exhaust and wiggle the bushing. Once the tip of the hanger clears the outside edge of the bushing it will slide off. You can also take a large screw driver and pry the bushing from behind.
Good luck!

Use a silicone type lube. Be sure not to use wd-40 it will erode the hanagers over time. Also make sure you only turn the nut on the side of the clamp that is not tack welded. It's very common to break those tack welds. Once you do that you'll be going to the hardware store for a lock washer and nut.
