Default TB Coolant Bypass?

Well now that im super poor and cant have my turbo... Im on a quest for ideas to gain more whp and ofcourse as cheap as possible.. I heard from a freind with a Mazda 3, that on their forums they had a DIY/mod for bypassing the coolant lines that go into the Throttle body.. The idea behind this mod is to remove the 2 lines that go into the TB and connect them together. This will bypass the hot water from going into the TB and heating up the TB and keeping the air in the TB cooler...

My questions are: Has anybody attempted this mod yet.. Would there be any ill effects from it.. Would there really be any gains from it?

The only ill effects I could think of were people who live in frezzing climates.. there TB could possibly freeze shut do to no hot water being passed thru it.. As for gains.. on the Mazda 3 forums, they showed a dyno from a Trans am.. and it gained 6whp with this mod.. So with the size of our engine we may see 1-2 whp gain at most or none at all....Guess only somone doing this and time will tell.. So hit me up with what your thoughts are on this..

you should get this...

http://www.ecotekplc.com/cb-26p.htm

you most likely won't see an improvement on the mpg but on the performance you will see that right away!!! you can feel it

So is this bypassing the TB thing really worth the effort. I hate the idea that hot coolant is heating up my incoming air. When I first saw the plastic intake I thought cool, the the TB will stay cooler and have more power. Then I find these stupid coolant lines heating it up. What a dumb thing to do to a TB.

Not dumb for people who actually want to drive their xB in freezing temperatures.

It should only flow to the TB when it's cold then. Kinda have the TB warmed only while the stat is closed. Then let it cool down to whatever temp it would be when disconnected.
Too bad a bypass couldn't be employed to redirect the coolant after the engine warms up. Maybe electric or cable operated.

That probably wouldn't be too hard to achieve. A couple of T fittings, a solenoid valve and a temp sensor to trigger the solenoid could work. Not that I am interested in researching it.

the coolant tells the idle air control valve how to operate your idle air flow correctly based on engine temp. i would imagine more headaches than hp with this mod.. wind up with a fluctating idle or high/low idle conditions
