I need a racing transmission for my 1.5 Release Edition, what can I swap for it, or can I build a new one?

1.5 release edition? there are no .5 release editions, just 1, 2, 3, 4

 

What is a "racing transmission"?

 

Maybe a close ratio 5 speed without overdrive?

 

I think he is trying to say 1.5L release series

 

a 5speed manual doesnt have overdrive unless there is something i dont know about our transmission.......why do you want or need a racing transmission? what do you have in your xa to where you'll need a racing one? why why why why?

im talking with zpi racing right now, about putting a tc tranny and gears into my xb... itll be stronger and not shatter like mine did...

 

I thought 5th gear WAS overdrive? At least that's what Dad always told me

 

yeah, sorry bout that its a 1.5 litre, a stage2 tranny would be nice but how much would one run me, and also what all types of sensors would i be replacing, even a manual 6 speed would be cool with me, this automatic is making me angry, i can't get anything from it

 

no one makes one. you can get the echo gears , or the echo final drive set.

or get the ae111 6 speed.

on our cars 4 and 5 gear are actually overdrive gears. there is no direct drive with front wheel drive cars. it just wasn't needed.

 

i wish 3rd gear was 1:1

 

why it would make the car slower in acceleration.

 

Haha, I was joking about the "Stage 2 racing transmission."

 

you could always look into have the gears chryogenically(sp) frozen so that if they're stronger. if you push beyond the limits of those then they'll shatter i know. but it seems difficult in such a low powered car i guess.

 

he would be happy with the 5 speed manual. ain;t no racing tranny but it's much quicker than the auto and you get to shift your own gears.
