TRD Final Drive 4.0 or 3.77
I am thinking of getting for 4.0 or 3.77 since I'm tired of my car (xB) sounding like it's going to explode on the freeway.
If anyone has the 4.0 or 3.77, can you post specs on your gears and speed at 3000rpm.
namely:
4th gear - 3000rpm = ___?___mph
5th gear - 3000rpm = ___?___mph
I ususally drive about 70 right now at 3500rpm and would like to get it down to around 3000rpm or below would be nice.
Also what would the cost be?

I figure I'll give this a shot before I decide on selling in about a year. I love the car's handling, size, & looks but the noise at higher speeds truely gives me a splitting headache.
Thanks in advance,
J

holy **** is it really that short. I would love to get an echo tranny how hard would it be to swap? Has anyone looked into this or completed it before? What years of the echo are the same? I am guess 2000+?
I believe the xB is based on the 2003-2005 Echo chassis but any year would probably fit for swapping final drive.
No idea how much it would cost. Probably expensive for a shop to do all of it. Can you pull a transaxle yourself?
A test drive makes sense, might not like the lack of uumph with higher gearing.
