That sounds great! If this is true then it will be the same basic turbo setup they are using for the Vitz RS. It is rated as putting out 150hp at 4 lb boost. It might also require changing the fuel pump/regulator to provide the extra fuel to the new larger injectors{although they might have set it with more than needed with this in mind?}.

TRD has "installed" a turbo kit on a running Scion in the US for a long time now. The silver "Stewart Company" Scion xB with the twin-opening front grille and carbon fiber vinyl stripes running down the hood has the turbo components from a JDM Vitz Turbo RS. It's technically a TRD setup, but it's not designed or manufactured by TRD USA.

My inside guy at TRD told me that their xA has it (turbo) and they are working on their xB.
I will probably see the xA in a couple of days. I'll try to get some pictures and if they allow me to post them I'll have them here asap.

As far as TRD resources, Ryan A. is very credible in regards to information. He knows a lot of people there and he is a good source on what is coming out soon from TRD.

I was under the impression that TRD was concentrating on a super charger kit rather than a turbo. This is good news me thinks. I love to stick with a toyota warranteed product, but iwould rather have a turbo.

just because TRD sells it doesn't mean it's warranteed, right? TRD and toyota motor company are 2 different companies from what i understand.

That was my impression....i figured if it is a toyota supported product, installed by a toyota or scion dealer, they have to honor the original warrantee....right??

Im probably wrong...usually am.

i don't know. i'm going to install mine myself so i don't care about the warranty. i was thinking they were making a supercharger kit and a turbo kit, but only the supercharger is a warranty item. whatever. either way, the engine will be fine if you do not abuse it.

Most of the parts that is installed by dealer will not void your warranty regardless of who manufacture it because manufacture like us work with dealers to provide the best service possible. :D
Its like you bought the Red Genie Aero from dealer we offer you same warranty as the car for dealer, and the same warranty will pass to you guys
Even though TRD and Toyota is 2 separate companies, they have contract between each other to provide best service possible to consumers. Who want to buy a brand new xB with turbo and no warranty at all?

BTW, if xB Turbo Kit is the same setup as Vitz, it will provide a "TOP" mount intercooler instead of Front mount... And that is when a hood scoop comes handy
