being a smaller diameter and a bit lighter, the unortodox one will keep some more of your power going to the ground.
yes, they will fit any 1nzfe motor

would love to hear your opinion about it when you do put it on.
OK, there are two benefits to using aftermarket pulleys....
1. weight reduction... OEM pulleys are generally built using steel or cast iron while aftermarket pulleys are built using aluminum. this weight reduction leads to better throttle responce. the car will feel more responsive as a result but will not necessarily put more power to the ground.
2. underdriving of accessories... To underdrive is to slow down. slowing down the accessories sends less power to them and more power to driving the wheels. this is how higher HP numbers come about on dynos.
Thus, those seeking more hp and faster times need to actually look for a light-weight underdrive pulley. Unorthodox Racing is a well known brand and more recently NST, www.NonStopTuning.com has been making some great stuff as well.
I've had some NST pulleys for the past few years on a number of cars and have really enjoyed the results. If you check out the site you will see some new goodies listed for the xA/xB

The underdrive pulley is a great addition to a N/A vehicle. Unless you have a very large stereo system.
Unorthodox has been a proven pulley for years. Had one on my eclipse and loved it greatly.

if the pulley is a unorthodox underdrive pulley the belt needed is a gates belt # k040470 found it at central auto parts in winter park fl and it is a world of difference best bang for the buck

This is rightly so. The Toyota engineers designed the stock pulley ratios to drive the accessories at the minimum speed to ensure that everything would receive the energy it needs at all times. When shadetree engineers replace the stock pulley with a smaller one, the accessories don't get the energy they need. You may get away with this if you tend to keep the revs up, but if you drive the car at normal RPMs the pulley can cause problems.
Underdrive pulleys were originally put on racing vehicles that constantly run high RPMs. In this application they save the accessories from excessive speed and save some power. Racing vehicles don't have to sit in traffic jams running their air conditioners, power steering, and electrical systems, so they are willing to sacrifice reliability at the low end of the RPM spectrum.
What is good for racing vehicles may not be good for street vehicles.
I can hear the chorus now: "I've been running an underdrive pulley for years and never had a problem!!!" That may well be true, but your experience may not transfer over to some newbie with more money than intellegence.
I also like the responses like "I put on the Riceroonie Power Pulley and I LOOOVVVVEEE it!" "It's so kewl and my car feels so much faster and my teeth are whiter!" There is a huge difference between "feels faster" and "is faster". Look for independent numbers, not feelings or advertising hype, before spending your hard earned money on something that might screw up your car!. Will the pulley manufacturer stand behind their product or will they weasel out of responsibility for their engineering screwups by saying "racing use only" even on vehicles like Scions that are very unlikely to be raced?
Bottom line: If these products could produce measurable performance gains with no loss of reliability, then Toyota would be engineering them in at the factory.
