I have a 05 x/B 5speed is their a speed limiter or governor or is the Box drag limited?

What's the fastest any of you been in your x/B 5 speed?

its pretty much drag and power limited. Ive had my xA up to about 115MPH. (im not recommending this for ANYONE to try, i did it once out of curiosity and thats it!) It could alittle bit more but i held off because its scary shooting down the highway at those speeds. My car only has an intake, exhaust and header.

 

I got to 95 down hill when it was bone stock....dont know bout it now though since I got intake and pulley....

 

i got like 105 stock , and 127 modded. all on flat , straight roads.

 

musta taken a day to get up there on flat roads... i have h,i,e and pulley and got up to 130 down a hill... i love shooting around in the box, and ive never gotten a speeding ticket

 

Personally never pushed it beyond 115, myself. Did it just for the feel. It could've definitely gone faster, but like I said I did it just for the feel- and the feel wasn't good.

 

it took me about a minute to get to top speed from 60/70ish.

 

i had mine up to 115 all stock.. the box screams like a son of a b**ch.. i have done it a few times going past 100 takes a while though

and 129 with boost...(felt like it had 2-3 more in it...)

 

There was Feb 2006 comparison of the xB, Element, HHR and PT Cruiser in Car and Driver. They said the xB top speed was "drag ltd" to 111 MPH. So without power mods, long downhill, and/or tail wind don't expect to go faster.

The owner's manual says never to exceed 85 MPH regardless of the legal limit. Not sure if it's to cover a low speed rating for tires or something else.

 

ive gotten mine to 121 bone stock!

 

dang some of you guys go fast LOL. im scared to go over 80 cuz im already at 4000 rpm.

 

i hit 115 in my auto bop took a while to get there but it did it

 

and other sources say the xB is drag limited to 107. obviously the drag limited numbers put out thus far have been inacurrate.

 

drag limited my **** haha....nothing more aero-dynamical than a box on wheels. lol

 

ive topped my box out once or twice on a flat i have I/H/E/Pulley i think it was like 127 or 130 just know i redlined 5th and let off

 

i think there might be some teasting issues that make the diff...
what altitude was it tested at...
what was the weather that day, (humidity, bar press, temp)...
and the weight of the driver/equipment....
did it have a wing or not...
the end result is that it is limited by drag/ power/ gearing

 

in my xa i stopped after about 110, it simply takes too long and wastes way to much gas, which in my opinion defeats the purpose of the car...but then again, at over 100, one is not really worried about getting good mpg
