Hi all,

Way too many search results that give me no info for my xA. Only Tc's I see with DC header problems with the CEL but no XA.

I am having my M2 Stainless Steel Race Headers installed but the guy at my shop said he cannot guarantee that my CEL light will not come on and stay on cause the CAT is affected. I understand he is required to tell me since some cars do have this problem.

Has any one with an xA EVER had this problem?? where when you have your M2 Stainless Steel Race Headers installed that your CEL comes on?? If so what did you do about it??

Thanks

OK.. I installed the MMW header on 01-01-07. Since then we have put on a couple hundred miles. Driving both in town and on the freeway. We even had a round trip tonight of about 80-90 miles to Fresno.

While in Fresno the CEL came on. I can not say that this is linked to the header. The car has thrown a CEL in the past, but it is usually pretty random. I need to just take it somewhere and have them scan the code history to find out what is causing it.

That's all I've got. We threw a CEL two days after installing the header. I can not link this to the header install in any way. At least not until I see what a scanner has to say about it.

Ok thanks for your info. Please keep us posted on your solution finding on that. I emailed MimoUSA about this and hope they can shed some light to this issue.

I wonder if I will need to invest in a Cat now also. I would rather not unless it's gonna give me HP

I think so also since I have seen only one complaint and it was here AND cannot be confirmed. Here is what MimoUSA said though

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for taking your time to send us your inquiry.

We have not done testing on that product yet so we cannot guarantee that that light will stay off.

If you have any other questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reply using the link below or call our customer service line at (Toll Free 866.844.0550 or 718.816.1056)

Thank you,"

Seems EVERYONE has to cover themselves.

Went to MMW's site and it says "Race Headers, NO CEL LIGHTS. Dyno Proven." in the caption before you click details.

We have had the MMW header on Project MMW for longer than a year and never through any light what so ever. There is no deleting of Cat's , or O2 sensors at all so there is no reason for any light to come on at all.

any questions feel free to call me.

Hi cee_dub2003,

Good to hear! Now I only thoughts are if it's carb legal or not and if not will it cause any issues in the near future for me. It's such a new car I doubt it thought.

yeah there shouldn;t be any reason a eader on our cars would throw a cel as there's no o2's sensors or cats on it. but if you installed it poorly and theres a leak it could be throwing a cel

Our MMW header comes with the provision to install your heat shield back on. With the shield on you will not be able to see you have a header. Passing smog should not be a problem when you have to about 5 years for now.
