Default xB Auto Shifter Noise

just bought an '06 xB auto, has about 2k miles on it now, and once in awhile when I shift from drive into park, there is a noise in the shifter console like plastic squeaking or crunching. It doesn't sound like anything metallic so I'm not real worried. Have any of you had this prolem or heard of one like it? I'm going to take the console off later this week and see if anything is binding under there or maybe caught in the mechanism, if there is one. any insight would be appreciated. thanks.

Normaly I would help you try and trouble shoot the problem or give you my opinon on what the problem is. But you have 2k on it, you need to take it back to the dealership and let them know about it. Even if it is an intermintant issue and it won't do it for them, it still needs to be documented and checked by them. So if down the road somthing major happens you can show you have had them look at it before.
Oh yeah and i like your Name, another name for the Seminoles, LoL im a big FSU fan.

Yea hats happened with my 06' Xb mine started at 70miles old and it hasnt stopped and i'm at 1k now. ask my dealer about it they said to bring it in one sat morning but i havent had the time. yea i agree though it's not metal but it's like grinding plastic...horrible sound and makes putting the auto in park or drive agonizing. I own a 05' and an 06' never had the problem i have in my 05' that my 06' has....but then again arent the new 06's made in Canada now...and with the second gen bB they stopped production of the xb/1st gen bB in hiroshima....would explain a bit of the problem! lol j/k

Mine just started this around 13k miles. At first, I thought maybe something spilled around the plastic and was sticking and making the noise, but I checked and cleaned it. It is making this noise that sounds like plastic crunching or breaking about 1 out of 4 times when I put it in park from drive (while stopped of course, lol).

I can only guess at what that noise is, and I am asking the dealer about it soon. I am guessing it's related to the shift lock button or something. Anyone have any updates on this? I always dread the dealer just because they are like a box of chocolates, except with razor blades.
