Default The xB autocross thread

So, i'm not sure where this thread should go, but I live in drivetrain and power so here I'll start. And I didnt want to use my other thread for "is the xb for racin' or not".

So, anywho, I take mine to the track for the first time tomarrow, wish me luck!

No, its an autocross track at an airfield in Ft. Meyers (gulfcoastautocrossers.com).

Now, what a BUST!
I should of had some luck wished upon my buddy's Integra. We were going together,
and on I-75 he blows a front tire, at about 100mph, spins around a bit, then lands a little ways down the embankment. Somewhere along the way, something went through
his radiator. So, it was 9:30a when the tow truck gets him. Thats an hour after
registration, and i'm still 2 hrs away. I went anyways, and watched a bit. The only
cars in my class (STS) are a Civic Si, an Integra, and a CRX. Overall there are about
40-50 cars there. The track is big and fast. Its a mile long, the best time was by a
Mustang of 67 sec.'s. Thats pretty quick, I'm hoping for high 70's. Won't get another
chance until the 31st, so i'll have to get back to you about how I do then.

I hope toasted- - doesn't mind me using his link here, but
this is a video of him Solo 2ing his box in Hawaii

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...b76b9f8d20fa1a

Also, for anyone trying to run their box at autocross events,
the SCCA has made a clause in the 2007 rules, under
unstable vehicles, it says: Note: The Scion xB is eligible for
STS class. So if you get any flack, thats your pass to run
STS. The email I got from the SCCA also said "it is highly
recomended to make use of the suspension mods allowed in
that class" Well, it went mostly like that. I can email anyone
a copy of that letter that wants it, its from the Solo director
at the SCCA, saying it is ok to run.
