Default xb head swap

i searched this and either i suck at searching or nobody has any questionss about thisso here i go.

is it possible to swap the head from a celica gts on to the xb block like the honda guys do with there "ls vtec" head swaps? and if so what would be invloed with doing this? and is the bottom end even able to hold the rpm needed to make this possible.

Here's all I could find. Maybe the people in these threads could help you find your way.

1ZZ-FE swap

I would think a performance shop would be the way to go. Maybe they already have a plan for the 1.5

nope, wont work. The engines are WAY to far off. I have pretty much come to the conclusion that other than expensive, expensive, swaps the only way to make decent power on these cars is to go f/i with some type of engine management, preferably standalone (which all this gets price as well. Im working on my turbo kit as we speak.

The other option, which no one has tried is the 1NZ-FXE (Prius) bottom end with our stock head. You would have to run either piggy back or stand alone engine management though.

Big compression bump, and no actually knows if it will work yet or not. If someone could get it to work physically, and get it tuned right I have no doubt they would have the quickest N/A xB in the country. (Especially now that Tony added a turbo to his car.)

If it physically worked, and you got a good tune I would conservatively estimate it at 135+ hp to the wheels.

a zz motor swap if you know a shop should be around 5k motor , trans , ecu fab and install.

add the trd supercharger and you have 162 or 163 whp stock motor. so about 180 crank. add bolt ons and you've got about 180 wheels. with a warranty that the s/c wont blow the motor. and you'll be very , very fast.

It is a motor that you could directly swap in, with some wiring involved, but sourcing one can be tricky.

sourcing 1zz and 2zz complete(motor , trans , ecu) is easy as almost all toyota specific wrecking yards will most likely have it on hand.

if you want to do a head swap, try the zpi head, its only 550 with your head and thats dirt cheap for a port and polish.

With probably no gain in power. Unless you are boosted you most likely will not see a gain in horsepower.

Though your car may be quicker. You will be hauling less weight with the $550 ZPI got out of you.
