wow, somebody show that to zpi, they broke the xb's axle at 230 whp.

that must have been alot of work to make those numbers. must be a built engine with strong axles and alot of boost

THATS RIGHT!!! PR does it better!!! Ive seen this echo in person and DAM DAM DAM, it has just about everything done to it. Its FAR away from OEM. Almost everything is custom made and yes it still is the 1NZ-FE. If im not mistaken its pushing 20+ lbs of boost and has MMMMMAAAAADDDDD torque steer. The car is almost useless if you drive hammer down in anything less then 3rd gear.

The car can do some amazing burn-outs, but to get it hooked up on the track is the problem. I don't know is anybody else agrees with me, but too much power in front wheel drive car is STUPID and POINTLESS, unless you are a hardcore drag racer. 230WHP is the limit for any front front car. Thats why im not going crazy with my car and hopefully sooner or later get to 200WHP and leave it there, but there is till alot of time and money to get to those figures.

Well with enough money, you can make anything fast. That is very impressive, though. I'm sure the internals are fully built.

*sigh*. I have so happend to race 3 cars, FWD, each pushing over 290WHP. I ran one on drag radials, one on street tires, and one with slicks. This was by no means a 'all out drag car' setup.. simply a tire change. Wouldn't you know.. it was easy to drive and race all three of them.

WHY 230whp? How did you scientifically reach this number as THEE limit for a front drive car in regards to ability to drive it?

How bout this, I don't know ANYTHING about jet engines, but I want to tell you guys right now, they only spin at 500 rpm and use diesel fuel.. ALSO, if you have more than 22,456 lbs of thrust using between 3 and 4 engines, the plane will fall apart.

There is some 'internet' fact for you.

In regards to the original post.. very cool vid.

I love it when people get all worked up on the internet... There is just no point... I was merely stating a fact that a car with over 230 WHP requires a light foot if not your going to be pushing like crazy on the track out. 230WHP is the limit for full throttle, open end, to the limit circuit racing. Ive heard this MANY MANY times before at the track. You don't have to take it personally, but if you like to change your tires every 10 laps then by all means go ahead and burn your tires.

I didnt mean to make you mad or ____ you off in any way, but if you want to have 500WHP on your FF then go ahead and do it ill keep my 230WHp and STILL BEAT YOU!!! Thats all im trying to get at, after 230WHP your not going to go any faster on the track and that HAS BEEN PROVED!! But once again you don't have to agree with me, but track times tell it all...

I would still like to see this 'proof' that RIGHT AT 230WHP.... not 229... not 228.. but 230WHP, the FWD car becomes unuseable and is unable to go widw open...

To simply blanket state that no car over 230whp on a FWD setup can go WOT is rediculous. Maybe I'll post a video.

You do realize, of course, that the Camry has 230+whp from the factory, yes? I only get worked up because of the disinformation on this board. You go ahead and believe what you want. If you are arguing about road course racing and not drag racing, that can be a different story.. but still isn't a 'fact'.

*sigh*

For whatever purpose it serves.. here is one for ya just for giggles. Low quality.. but FWD... about 260WHP in this video. Cutting a perfect light at the track. They only ran 1/8th mile that day.

Oh, and here is what happens when you DON'T have power in a FWD car.

http://www.ajschneider.com/videos/car/burnssei2.wmv

*** smoke from burnout triped the trees before I could see... hence the late start.. but as you see, it didn't help the neon.. .

Anyway, have fun viewing. I'm not attacking you, but seriously, the 'facts' here need some help.

Ahh hell here are a few more... im bored.

http://www.ajschneider.com/videos/car/iddburnout.wmv

^^ This one is only good for the burnout. I ran far to much timing on the run for the gas I had in it. Anyway, I trapped 105 that day but still couldn't get a best.

http://www.ajschneider.com/videos/car/trackrun_low.wmv

^^ Wide open off the line... FWD.. 280 or so whp.

Man.. haven't watched those in a while... good times!

Don't forget the 2004+ Dodge SRT-4 come with 230 factory wheel horsepower, but dynoed higher than that.

There are also quite a few GMs that came with the 3.8 liter engine and a supercharger producing over 240hp to the front wheels.

Honda's Accord V6 is 244 hp.

The current Nissan Maxima produces 265 horses through the FWD transaxle. Current Altima is 270.

Just adding fuel to the fire.

...and again, 230whp on a road course/ circuit track does not equal the "ideal" setup. Lap times has to do as much with suspension setup, driving style, tires and etc as the 230hp cutoff...

hp numbers are simply that....numbers. My 2000 monte had a lot more power than my xA and it would be a very close race on the 1/4, but stick in some twists and the car woudl be done...

(funny seeing how my monte was very close to that ideal 230, but my egg is more like 90whp....)

....its apples and oranges when you look at just HP. you need to take a ton more into account. Had i done some of the suspension work in my monte that i did on my egg, i would have been able to pull all day long. Had i taken out the GSR with 253whp i would also get my ___ handed to me...

there is no such thing as the "cutoff" for effiecent use of power regardless of drivetrain.

...and heres another video of a FF 300hp car smoking EVRYTHING ;)

http://world-racing.com/multimedia.htm

...anyone of those first four videos will get the point across
and btw, im not worked up at all, this is just getting commical and i thought i would add.

Each one of you are entitield to your opinions. enjoy!
