Another xa to be boosted!!
well i bought the kit from 8psixa which is actually the turbo toyota kit. He is keeping his injectors, i will be buying my own. The xa is auto so i purchased a tranny cooler to keep it safe. I also bought the emanage and I have a camcon for vvti tuning. The kit i bought is incomplete so i have to get some prices from todd for the fluid lines. I dont plan on having the kit installed right away because i plan on doing it right without cutting corners.

Might buy list
axles
engine oil cooler
You should always remember safety first. To be able to prevent trouble with fixing problems that come along with tuning i will be installing pieces one by one keeping the car functional.
I plan to
1. do the brakes, transmissin and oil system (for this step i will be using some regular motor oil so when i install the turbo i put some good oil). Make sure the car is running fine without over heating.
2. install gauges and piggybacks. i need to make sure the a/f ratio is correct and boost gauge is working properly. Idont want to have to waste money at the dyno to figure out they dont work.
3. Here i will install the fuel rail and injectors to make sure I will be fine for the turbo to be installed.
4. Best for last, the turbo. Really, I have never installed a turbo but im sure i will be fine doing the install. My dad is a pretty good mechanic and im not to bad myself so hopefully this goes smooth.
As you can see i dont like to deal with 20 problems at once if i dont have to. I hope this will help everything go smooth. Once i have everything i will try taking some pics.
i just have to figure out what injectors i will be using. if you guys have any suggestions please feel free to give some. wish me luck.

Good job on your buy. I purchased my turbo toyotas kit and it should be on its way as of tomorrow. As for your setup your good to go. This is what i have so far:
Engine and Tuning:
Perrin Fuel Rail
2ZZ-GE injectors
CamCon
E-Manage Ultimate
Innovate Wideband Sensor
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy Boost Controller
AmsOil everything (engine and transmission)
Spec Stage 2 Clutch
Gauges:
Oil Pressure
Oil Temp.
Water Temp.
Boost
EGT
Brakes:
Agency Power SS lines
Hawk HPS Pads/EBC Red
Motul 600 Fluid
I have already cleared the first 3 steps on your project and the funny thing is, that i as well, went down the same list in the same order. We think alike and i must say its the only way to go. The only way you want blow a hole in your block from a broken piston rod (have seen it happen, NOT PRETTY!!). Toyota engines don't like being boosted, unless you take the proper steps. I'm only missing to install the clutch and E-Manage because im still looking for a ECHO ECU that wont want to battle my emanage. Echo ECU's are 16 or 32 bit, which makes them a lot easier to piggy-back.
You should DEFINITELY buy pads and lines, our OEM brakes fade after a few hard corners. I race about once a month and i change my pads like a do underwear and for now the best i have tried has been Hawk. I still haven't been able to try out the EBC reds, but the greens SUCK!! I wouldn't buy Axxis, but if thats what you want go ahead, let me know how it goes.
When im done with all this and im running 7psi, im going to buy wiseco pistons, crower rods and a megasquirt. Then ill probably want to hit the 12psi mark, but for now 7psi will be fine.
As for WHP numbers i don't expect anything crazy, maybe 120-130WHP. If i hit anything above 130WHP ill consider myself LUCKY!!!
BTW, where did you buy the harness for the emanage?? Considering i still haven't connected mine, what do i need to be able to connect it?? Lets make a conversation of this thread, considering we are using the same kit and almost the same parts, we should be able to help each other out. Any questions, let me know and if you could answer mine that would be great.

Sounds good. Does the echo ecu just plug right in. As far as the extention harness iemailed boomslang and theysaid that they can make one the same price as the tc one. You just need to call them. You have two choices, buying the harnessto plug and play camcon and emanage or the extention that you just hard wire to (which is a lot cheaper).
Wow! If the celica ecu plugs in, you might be able to just use the apexi power fc and you will have full control. I think actually back in 05 some guy in puerto rico used a power fc on there scion. As far as the hard wiring goes, I might just do that myself as well. Do you think it is nessecery to replace the in tank fuel pump?
I ordered my turbo toyotas kit for my auto xA. Todd picked up the turbo a few days ago, and it should be on its way in about 2 weeks. Can't wait for that big box
The parts I have right now are:
First box from Todd (Exhuast Manifold, lines, and a few other stuff)
GReddy e-Mange
Perrin Radiator hose kit (Blue)
E-Pod
Auto Meter Phantom II Boost gauge
Auto Meter Phantom II Air/Fuel gauge
Koyo Aluminium Radiator (will have in 2 weeks)
Toyota Long Life Coolant (Red)
Still need to get:
Trany Cooler
Auto Meter Phantom II Trany Temp. gauge
Auto Meter Phantom II Oil Pressure gauge
Gauge rings
Perrin Crank Pulley
Perrin Oil catch/coolant tank
Perrin fuel rail
NGK spark plugs
GReddy PRofec B-Spec2 (When it comes time to tune)
For brakes I'm going to be running Wilwood big brakes with stainless steel lines, and I want to convert the rear drums to disc brakes. Then get some K-sport coilovers.

Ive seen the ECU swap done a bunch of times, as long as with the throttle body. Both these modifications have their downside: FUEL CONSUMPTION!! When these 2 mods are done say good-bye to your gas mileage, not exactly sure why it happens but it does. The ECU was pulled from a Matrix XRS and the throttle body from a celica GT. I considering the Celica ECU with the Power FC a long time ago, but in between both parts its about $1000, which is A LOT of dough.
I have mixed feeling about the fuel pump, some people say its necessary, others say its not, unless your running high boost, which we wont be until pistons get swapped out. If you do want to change your pump go with a walbro 255 pump, should do the trick just fine. Other have told me to make it a return lines fuel system, which would make tuning easier, but thats a pain in the A$$. I think you should be fine with the rail and injectors, that should be more than enough gasoline. The wide-band will tell it all.
Kyle: If you could tell me where or how your turning your rear drums into discs, please let me know, i heard its a pain to do this swap, but if you know something i don't, please, feel free to share!
Im also considering an oil cooler (if needed) and the radiator (this is a must). I wanna keep that engine cool and from what i see Koyo is the BEST way to go.

JSosa,
someone told me that Wilwood might be making rear disc brakes for the xA/xB, so I'm hoping they do. I'm going to email Wilwood on Mon. and find out if they have any plans on making them.

well i know wilwood had a rear disk break kit but it was very limited to only sponsered people. its hard to find them but once in a while a member will try to get rid of one. this kit was out when they first released the scion.
Ok guys, first off...great thread. As most of you know, i am boosted, but not with Todd's kit (even though I am an avid suporter of his product)
Here is what I have:
Greddy 14g Turbo/ Log manifold
Greddy MAF adapter w/ Airnix Intake filter
Greddy Front Mount Intercooler
Turbonetics Mechanical Boost Controller (7-8psi daily, 10-11 at the track)
Turbonetics Raptor BOV (atmospheric)
tC Fuel Injectors
NGK Plugs (one step colder than stock)
2" Custom Intercooler Piping w/ Turbonetics Couplers
Throttle Body Coolant return Delete
Koyo Dual Core Radiator
A'PEXi Neo
...now i noticed you guys are shooting for a perrin fuel rail. Unless you are planning on running a LOT of boost, or using it for show, i dont recomend it.
With the tC injectors alone i was OVER fueling my car. It was to the point where i was getting litle back fires on down shifts, and my plugs were fouled QUICKLY.
Currently i actually had to pull about 20% of the MAF reading to get the vehicle to fuel correctly, but it runs GREAT. Thoes tC injectors flow great and the rail doesent seem to be a necesity. I would look more so into a regulator to maintain consistant pressure. You wont be able to get more than 50psi of fuel, but that really shouldnt matter at such low boost levels.
As far as the ecu, do you happen to know which specifics will work? Celica Gt Gts? Matrix gt? Corolla? Im looking for specifics to cross reference. Let me know, and good luck with the builds.

diameter of the throtle bodies? the electric wire is bigger but i think the mechanical wire responds quicker.
i had a question of the koyo radiator. does Koyo Part # V2304 work fine with automatic? i found one on ebay for $199

bfurches,
do you think I should buy the Perrin oil catch can/coolant overflow tank? Oil catch/coolant tank
Ok I can take the fuel rail off my list.

I want to put the magnaflow catback exhaust in my car but it might happen after the tune. I know I can tune afterwards for more power but do you guys think it can affect me negitive if I don't tune after?
