Which is better S/C or T/C?
I was wondering which is a better buy for the xB and also what else would I need to buy with the kits....because I've read you have to also buy a race clutch....or something like that....I've seen the TSI kit saying something like 56% increase.....P.E s/c 46% increase....then the Greddy turbo kit....I don't know how much that would put out.....Blitz kit eehhh....don't sound good to me at all....anyways please let me know what other parts I would need after I buy F/I kit....meaning like clutch....short throw....ect.....

Here's a short summary of the difference between TC and SC:
Let's start with the similarities. Both turbochargers and superchargers are called forced induction systems. They compress the air flowing into the engine. The advantage of compressing the air is that it lets the engine stuff more air into a cylinder. More air means that more fuel can be stuffed in, too, so you get more power from each explosion in each cylinder. A turbo/supercharged engine produces more power overall than the same engine without the charging.
The typical boost provided by either a turbocharger or a supercharger is 6 to 8 pounds per square inch (psi). Since normal atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi at sea level, you can see that you are getting about 50-percent more air into the engine. Therefore, you would expect to get 50-percent more power. It's not perfectly efficient, though, so you might get a 30-percent to 40-percent improvement instead.
The key difference between a turbocharger and a supercharger is its power supply. Something has to supply the power to run the air compressor. In a supercharger, there is a belt that connects directly to the engine. It gets its power the same way that the water pump or alternator does. A turbocharger, on the other hand, gets its power from the exhaust stream. The exhaust runs through a turbine, which in turn spins the compressor.
There are tradeoffs in both systems. In theory, a turbocharger is more efficient because it is using the "wasted" energy in the exhaust stream for its power source. On the other hand, a turbocharger causes some amount of back pressure in the exhaust system and tends to provide less boost until the engine is running at higher RPMs. Superchargers are easier to install but tend to be more expensive.

I see what you are saying but I don't even know how much the TSI kit or the Greddy kit really puts down with hp....I don't even know how much the Supercharger kits puts down....and with the clutch and short throw....do I need that....maybe with a clutch I can see but a short throw???
If you are boosting power with a turbo or supercharger, you'll be well advised to upgrade the clutch and pressure plate. The stock clutch will tend to slip and wear quicker. A short throw shifter enables you shift gears faster during a race.
I know this is off topic but...OK so we all share the same engine code...would it be possible to stuff the GReddy turbo kit into my egg? sorry if its a stupid question but i just have to know, cause you know...we can basically have engine part from an Echo or blah blah blah, so wouldn't it make sense that I could use the turbo kit from GReddy for the xB for my xA? I know that I'd have to change the Intake cause it wouldn't fit in my engine compartment and yeah

aahhh i ccc do you know what kinda of clutch kit i should get....i know they come in stages
There are alot of clutch kits out there today and the more you wait the more will come out. But ACT, exedy, clutchmasters, etc... Sells clutches for our car, so do some research because i cant be much help im in the clutch department.
I can tell you if you want to boost the safer way is S/C ive read people having problem with T/C because of the need of parts after parts when you install the turbo. The S/C gets slapped on and your done.

just keep in mind when your adding power, you need to keep it reliable. for any boost appication you need to add more fuel, then research spark plugs,then find out through Q&A what else you may need for everything to balance out.
for instance the setup i would like to use for the Blitz blower,
fuel injectors, fuel pump, Spark plugs for boost and high octane levels, Plug wires, gauges (oil presure & temp, Water temp, boost/vaccum, fuel pressure and A/F ratio) Stage 2 cluch (so you can still drive it daily) maybe a lightwight flywheel and lightweight wheels (no bling 15's)
have fun boosting, its addictng and fun. a racing harness wih a proper belt anchor wouldn't hurt either. Don't forget adjustable suspension!

what other stuff do i need for it tt, boost controller, gauges what kind do i need for this....on my is300 setup i had boost, a/f wideband, egt....what should i get....i'm thinking about boost, wideband, oil temp, fuel pressure, or something like that....
its a good idea to always keep a heads up n the vitals of your engine/fuel management. this way if you throw a bearing out and your oil pressure gauge dumps to zero youll shut it down before you throw another rod out the oil pan.
talk to simply scion and matchbox. SSwas runnins reliable turbo boost around 7-8 lbs daily. Matchbox has a PE blower on his and is running around 10 lbs. they are go to guys.
also try to run a search on any other boost subjects on here
