Default Bought a turbo xb!

I Have been lurking for a couple months.
Very difficult to find xb's in Canada. Just got one from a dealer in Vancouver who brought it up from the USA.
2005 with turbo installed, front mounted intercooler & dash mounted apexi safc.
The xb is an automatic and has piaa 18" wheels.
I'm totally freaked about grenading the motor so I will post some pictures in the next couple of days to see if you guys can identify who might have done the work or what
brand of kit it is. There are no names on any of the associated parts. It has dash installed boost, air fuel ratio and pyrometer guages.
I have what seems to be the normal cel with trac off and vss light lite up. I did pull the efi fuse to get rid of codes but they came back after an hour or so.
The car definetly hesitates and bogs when you get on the gas.
I'm hoping the apexi might need set up properly and help with the boging situation.
I have no apexi manual so I would really appreciate if someone could send me a link or some additional apexi info to see if its set up properly. Looks like max. boost is around 6-7. I drove a stock one recently and this turbo xb is way quicker.
If I can get the driveability improved I will be very happy, If not I will remove the kit.
Maybe the only Turbo Xb in Canada!

Thanx
Jon

The car is probably running much to lean. Only Zpi has figured out the fuel problems, from what they say at least.

Thanxs for the unspiring comments guys.
The xb is a dark cahrcoal colour and has 26,000 miles on it.
It seems to be running better every day. I'm pretty pleased .
I did email some pics to zpi before I bought it.
Time for a phone call and see if they have some electronic upgrades or some apexi tips. Install looks to be done very well.
I will post some pictures this week.

Congrats on your find. This is what I would do if I were you:

1. Do a compression and leak down test. It wouldnt take you longer than 45min-1 hour to do.

2. invest in a wideband O2 controller like the AEM UEGO, Innovative or PLX.

The Apexi AFC is very easy to use and with the the wideband, you should be able to make sure you are getting enough fuel. Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys. I have found an exhaust leak from the exhaust manifold gasket. Ordered one up. Is this a pretty straight forward install.?
The drivers side cv joint is really loud when turning. I will replace this also.
The car has been driven pretty hard but hey now i've got it I will fix it up and take care of it. With 6psi of boost this thing flies. This little box is really impressing me.
I have some pics, can I send them to someone to post for me?

the only reason why I think its the greddy is because of the intake setup it has. Unless they changed that, that was the way greddy had their kit setup.

Manuals give you much more control over your speed and gears...the automatic transmission, while they are more advanced now-a-days, they have very limited programing and are not "smart"...if your going to go through the trouble to put turbo into a car you'd think a person would want more control over the shifting and overall speed with all the variables of the road...

unless it's a 1/4 mile track racing car, looking for the best times..then a automatic is a better idea (no variable in the roads and you program the computer to shift at optimum rpm times)

xbinbc - am glad that you are happy with the car...it does look great (love the wheels!) but like DetourAhead said, buying a pre-exhisting mod of this nature can be very dangerous due to the abuse a turbo can cause to an engine..and the only person that really knows what kind of abuse it has been through is the previous owner...I really hope that nothing serious is wrong with it and you get the quirks out of the system..looks like it'll be a fun car...I would fix the front end...keeping the ventilation for the intercooler but do a better job hidding it.....make it a "sleeper" xB....always a much better surprise when they don't see it coming

oh, also do yourself a favor and get rid of the stock grill...and get something with some ventilation.....billet or anything that has some holes in it
