batting 1.000 today. running errands and my high temp light came on, f'in antifreeze vapor started blowing out of the floor vents, made it into a walmart... my damn radiator cap was half way on and it took like one shot shy of a full gallon. Then on my way home some 91 year old, no joke, guy cut me off with NO room and the back end of his crown vic tore the bumper cover off my car. We'll just see what happens with insurance.
Here are some photos of my bumper cover i fixed up. The day of the accident I saw LKQ had a 1st gen on their lot and they wanted $90 for the cover. I didn't want to deal with the insurance or a shop or anything so I just emailed the other guy and told him forget about it. So I went to the junkyard and when I went to pay LKQ wanted $210 cause it had the lip. I left it there lol it was kind of trashed too. the mounts were broke off also.
So I just zipped tied what was left and the funniest part is i think its connected to the car more solidly than it was before. Also I would like mention i haven't had any problems from that coolant loss issue and the car is running good
I can relate to damaged bumpers. Same thing happened to my daughter. Amazes me how cheaply these things are held on. All plastic clips, and a few 10 mm bolts. I'm surprised a good cross wind on the hi-way doesn't rip them off. Hope you get yours taken care of soon.
I am about to turbo mine and you answered all my questions. Sick thread !
Hey thats very exciting to read! If you have any other questions you already know you can ask. I would be really cool to see a build thread, I would like to see your style.
My car's transmission started getting hella loud a few days ago. I have a feeling its the throwout bearing but I haven't looked yet but anyways I got another car a 2011 subaru forester to finally replace my scion. I took off all the parts that I want to keep for my roadster project... the subframe is sitting on a cheap furniture dolly, ready to be winched onto a flatbed.
Hey, so I've also done a custom rear turbo set up for the 2006 xA and I can't find a 1NZFE basemap, hopefully you are active and see this, please let me know. You can email it to sputnikkobra@gmail.com Thanks.

hey, all that info i had on a separate laptop that got sold off. Did you try the stock ecu. If you didnt read all my posts I found out that the stock ecu, 600ish cc fuel injectors, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and keeping the maf in a stock diameter tube worked really good. it ran like it was stock. the aem never worked as good. I do still have the ecu if you wanted it

Hey, so I haven't tried running it on the stock ecu, I was about to chop up the wire harness for the AEM FIC 6 tomorrow. I guess I'll wait. It's still sitting on jackstands.
So far, I have 550cc fuel injectors and a MAF on 2.5" tubing. And I'm desperate for any basemaps of any format. Do you still have the piggyback you made, I'm now debating going to the junkyard tomorrow for an ECU to make one.

No i dont. The aem only modifies the signals so as long as you set the correct settings in the program and you wired everything right, if you dont make any changes the car should run like normal. making your own map is all part of the fun lol. I think the intake pipe where the maf lives is smaller than 2.5" when the aem unit isnt modifying the signal the factory computer might have a hard time with that. I made an adapter for the stock maf sensor to clamp onto a 2" exhaust tube that you can print out https://www.tinkercad.com/things/eYH...YL-maf-adapter
I would at least try and see what the ecu can handle by itself, like you can wire in the aem, but put the bypass cable on and see what itll do. I used fuel pump SP1135, just saying.
