Ok...I have searched the F/I forums as well as the power forums and have not found any pics of the HKS Turbo setup installed into an xB. Does anyone have this setup and can you post up a pic or two?

Disclaimer - I know of all of the kits available, I just want to see how they all layout in the engine bay prior to making a decision on what Turbo to go with. And I know I could always go custom...

Over 24 hours and 44 views and still no pics of the HKS turbo setup installed...

 

I have never heard or seen anyone with the HKS turbo kit.

 

I had the HKS kit. I had it mocked on my spare motor, but sold it before it went in the car. It was non intercooled and the only pipe went out of the turbo and over the motor into the throttle body. Pretty clean, didnt look all that bad.

 

When you say it went over the motor...like the Greddy kit?

I'm trying to keep my engine compartment as clean as possible...

 

Kinda like the Greddy kit. It went to the side of the motor up and over where the airbox usually is. Not is hideous as the Greddy kit.

 

I sell that kit too by the way if you are interested....

 

Ok...so you don't have to remove the tube to get the engine cover off...As you can see from my profile pics, I'm trying not to cover up my pinup girl on the engine cover...

How is the engine management with that kit. I have a 2006.5 Xb, and am wondering if I would have the same ecu problems as with the E-manage that the Greddy supercharger and turbo kit have.

 

why boost a box? 2 - 3 grand for 30 hp?

 

Have you ever been in a turbo charged xA/xB?? I used to think exactly like you, until i went turbo. The real WHP gain in usually 50 and 50 WHP on a car that weighs 2280 lbs, is a BIG BIG BIG difference. BMW 335's, Mini Cooper S, Nitrous fed Lancer's, Boxster, Legacy GT (wrx engine), etc... The list keeps on going and i yet have to see one of these cars beat me...

BTW, its ALOT more than 2-3 grand to get the xA moving quick. The price you said will get you the parts, but everything else is worth alot more. If you want real numbers, just let me know i can give you a GOOD scare.

im have the hks kit installed on my car in around 10 days.. just ordered it yesterday.. tired of todds "nothing but problems" kit

heres my hks kit installed? pretty pimp minus the fact theres no bov or intercooler... but the turbo sounds sick spooling and quickens up the xb very nicely.. lemme know whatcha think..

 

looks very clean, is that the factory airbox flipped around?
