Default Installed my Greddy S/C! <Update> Intake installed.

On a 5spd too!

Yeah i've had that damn thing for over a year. Tried to sell it.
Couldn't find any takers, so.... I said F it!

Took about 6 hours, Probably about a 8 out of 10 on my personal difficulty scale.

I'm pleased with the results.
Adds alot of Torque in the Low to Mid RPM range. No major issues yet.
Few minor ones.

Belt slippage, mostly.

Took those pics the day of, have sinced added a WR Engine Dampener.

Been driving on it now for a couple of days.
I'm very pleased with the performance.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SUPER CHARGER!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Don't tell the Mods I was yelling.... LOL

As an update. I added a Weapon R Engine Dampener, put it on last night.

Honestly I can't tell that the dampener makes much of a difference when I drive it, but maybe i'm confused.

I also tightened up the other belt, the squeal at high RPM has gotten better, but it still rears its ugly head above 6k. Not as bad as it was before (above 5k).
Red line is 6500 isn't it? so i'm not losing much shifting at 6 right?

The engine dampener was nothing like what I thought it would be. I assumed it was a shock of sorts, but its just two peices of really firm rubber on either side of a piston.
So basicly its a shock with no gas/oil/air inside, just the bumpstops. Strange.
It does create a little tiny bit of engine noise inside. Hardly noticeable really. Nothing like the reports I had read/ (misunderstood) on here.

Anyway, thats my latest report.
Hopefully this week my e-bay intake will arrive, and i'll get some S/C whine out of that....

with my blower i haven't had a problem with the blower belt squealing its been the serpintine belt. I took the one supplied off and matched it up with a goodyear gator back belt an its been prefect ever since. NO slip no mater how cold the belt is of evenif its wet. Id reccomend getting a boost guage. my s/c makes 7 psi just about all the time but it will spike to 9.5 or so in very long 2nd or 3rd gear pulls. The engine dampner you need to be careful of if you drive the car very hard like i do. It lasted about 3 weeks intill the bracket bent into the s/c idler. Defenitly think about filling the motor mounts like rolhard did, it should last till someone makes the uerathane mounts that everyones been screaming for. Since you do have the 5spd start steeing money aside for a cutch and while your in there do the lightend flywheel. Ive has mine on a lava for about 8 months now love it except for the motor mount problems. plus it makes great power 135hp /138tq

did you only have to take that front grill off in order to install the SC if so that is quite impressive I thought it would be a more elaborate installation then that. Not saying that it is easy but it is definately not a turbo.

Also what does that hose go to that is connected to the SC, sorry i am not very familiar with forced induction.

You have to remove the grille and the upper tie bar of the radiator support. It gives you all the access you need. Its real simple, jus tfour bolts after you remove the grille.

That hose goes from the intake manifold to the actuator. Just shows pressure to the actuator to let it bleed off.

Yes Yes! If anyone knows about that Belt, PLZ! That would be awesome!

***UPDATE UPDATE***

Installed my intake lastnight finally. Took off the ole factory POS.
And guess what!?!

That sweet sweet Supercharger Whine has arrived! Woot!!! Woot!!!

It sounds great! i'm stoaked. I also hear my valves clattering a little at full throttle now.
Have only been running cheap gas, so i'll bump it up to mid grade and see what it does.
The ole @ssdyno showed some increased power from my $50 ebay intake. : D
Nothing wrong with that!

Anyway, lots of people ask about the S/C 'sound' and if I have it, and so there ya go!
Will try to take some more pics with my new goodies on.

wouldn't it be wise to use premium gas with the SC?

Yes, force of habit. I've had this car 3+ years and i'm just used to looking at cheap gas.
I'll have to put a note on my dash or my fuel cap.

Buy the good stuff!
