NEED HELP WITH A GREDDY BLOWER
about 2 weeks ago i installed a greddy blower on my 2004 xb rs01. I have a k&n intake, perrin , fuel rail, perrin pulley, firennza lightened flywheel, exide clutch, monster motor works ign eg, weapon r engine dampner, autolite platinum plugs 2 ranges down , dc header, and custom 2 1/4" cat back exhaust. The car runs pretty stong but i was very disapointed in the dyno numbers only 108 hp and 111 ft of torque. The car is very moody sometimes it runs like crap other times it flys. I think im sucking air in the exhast at the header to cat junction causing the car to run rich. The dyno shop said the fuel to air was ok up till about 4000 and then it was way to rich. Has anyone run this blower with out the cat on, and did it help. I have bought the o2 sensor spacer that monster motor works has to space out the 2nd o2 to run it with out cats but id like to hear feed back. Looking for help Kinda firured the car should be in the 150"s any help is appreicated.
You have something wrong. I would check all your connections. What are you boosting at? Make sure you have no leaks at the blower to manifold, or the manifold to motor. Also, check the throttle body, make sure you have no leaks and check the exhaust too. You havent messed with the settings on the EManage have you?
My car dynod 113whp with the charger at 4psi of boost with the crank pulley spinning on the crank (i broke the pin). So you definitley have a problem with something. Its probably just an airleak.
Also, my air fuel was running a solid 12.0 all the way across the board until redline. Not rich and not too lean....

well people have heard me say this before.. but check the belt tension. My car was "moody" like yours at one point until i discovered a drop in boost as the RPM's climbed, right after i installed a boost gauge. If ur car is running more strong after it warms up or u have been driving for 10 minutes, that's a good sign of belt slippage, as the belt slips more when the pullies and engine is cool. Also install a vac/boost gauge for sure, u should read 18-20 vac at idle, if u are lower then u definatly have a vacum leak, but i suspect not.
thanks for the ideas. the emanage has not be touched yet. the belt is very tight im woriied is i go toghter in gonna waste the bearing in the altenator. the dyno shop did say the boost fulcatued all ove the map mostly 8 psi then would drop to 4 and in some spots as low a 2 then climb right back up to 6 and 8 psi. When the crank pulley was loose did it make any kinda of noise. the only noise i hear is a very rare blet slip if i do a hard free rev just after start up and the blower at iddle almost sound and feals like its low on oil but its still seals from the factory.
It mite be way rich because of the fuel rail.... Also i would try resetting the ecu and see if that helps then do a pull with it reset. Also there is no way for you to suck air in the exhaust as far as i know.... You mite have a leak that will throw the upper o2 sencer off... but if you have a leak that throws it off you will hear it. So my only guess would be the fuel rail...... mite have to tune the emanage with the new rail to take out the richness at 4000 rpm and above..... also check your pulley pin and if its snapped the replace it with a cut off hardened drill bit....(heard others do it with success)
