Need help for turbo upgrade!
Well im kind of partial on the subject, so i'll say go ZPI. I know Simplyscion had the TSI turbo and was not completely happy with it, but did get some good use out of it. ZPI has done great thing's for the tC's so i can only imagine that the xB turbo is going to be awsome to. Are you driving a manual or auto? Do you want to have to worry about installing bigger fuel pump, fuel return line and fuel pressure regulator? I beleive these are some of the things you will need to do to get the full use out of the TSI turbo. Im sure Vito (Simplyscion) will check this thread out and throw in his very good knowledge on the subject. ZPI's turbo should be pretty much a bolt on turbo, no tunning required and run on stock internals, with bigger injectors. So it may come down to ease of install and ofcourse hp #'s. Go with ZPI.........

I didnt need to do everything that I did, I just wanted a failsafe kit...you know, if your gonna half a$$ it why do it at all type of thing. I also didnt use emanage which is another reason why I did the return line/pump/fpr etc. Im curious to see how ZPI's kit comes out.

The turbo was a lot of fun...I was sorta in it on my own with my father cause there werent to many boosted boxes runnin around those days. The power was great, made the box actually fun to drive. I turned the boost up numerous times without any severe ramifications. The ZPI kit should be good when it is released, plus you will have their first hand knowledge and support if any problems start to arise. Im pretty sure you guys woulda seen some sick numbers if i ended up keeping my car as I had a bunch of plans that I never got to tackle. All in all, it was worth it.
ya know.....i was gonna do a custom kit for my 1nz back then but after alot of thinking
...what's wrong with having a complete kit for it and plus the enormous hp gain the zpi kit produced
...and hey I'm planning on sellin my custom turbo that I bought a year ago
...after installing the zpi kit and btw is the zpi turbo a BB turbo?

Well i have read up on the turbo they are using and no where does it state on any of the sites i looked at, that it is ball bearing or not. So im really not sure ( i rember reading ball bearing turbos spool faster, i am no expert on turbo's at all), but never hurts to ask the experts and will ask ZPI. Glad to hear you have some what made up your mind on what direction your going towards on turbo's. I will let you know what they say.
Use the TSI kit.... its pretty complete as far as the main parts... The only thing you will need is fuel management but if you buy it from turbo-kits.com, they offer a fuel upgrade that comes with what you need. It wasnt available when I did mine..
