I've been building race engines for many years, and I'm interested in building one for a scion XA. The motor seems to be a very good starting point to build something in the 300-350 hp range.

If anyone has an XA or an XA motor available that I can build a prototype from let me know. I'm interested in doing everything needed including crank lightened, longer rods made, pistons made, lots of head / valve work, better intake/exhaust and cams. plus of course the almighty t3/t4 turbo.

so if anyone has an XA they can donate for a while or a junked/wrecked XA or just an engine pm me.

How much are you willing to spend on an engine?

 

The reason I ask the question above, is there is a brand new engine in San Fran for $995.... Thats a steal if you have big plans for it..

that is a good deal. I think once the motor itself is hardened so to speak, you can really open up that turbo. not much fun blowing 6 or 8 psi into that tiny intake :-D

 

Agreed... I cant wait to see some one take these motors to and past it's limits... gonna be one sick egg or box floating around if they do..

it takes JE about 8-10 weeks to produce a set of pistons, and that's if I provide them one to go off of. JG or webcams are quicker. rods take a long ___ time too. pauter or JG rods will be used. I'm guessing it will be 6 months before I have anything ready for action.

6mo. = too long to be with out my car, sorry. Seems pretty quik to build an engine, but too long to not have my car. esp. when in 7 mos. I'm getting married.

 

Just for everybodies amusment since your talking about blowing in to a tiny intake ... its for sale on the Echo forums..

ahh that is sick... i want to get rid of the crappy plastic intake, but 400 is outta my range

hmm, I don't have a tc so I can't really make one for it lol - is the tc stock plenum made of metal or plastic?
