Default Tired of it all!!

Ok, im tired of hearing b.s. about the 1nz-fe. I personally have huge plans for my box, There are dozens of people out there running VERY respectable times. Of course this comes at a price, one most are not willing to pay, so they talk of what cannot be done (by them).

Basicly i made this post because of this.

this motor 18psi. are you high? that's crazy if it doesnt blow up through the hood.
Well here:

XB-13.165@15psi on Port and polish heads

Echo-10.370@15psi

And here is something perrty crazy.
XB-12.680@12.5psi on 11.5:1 port and polished pistons

12.680 is the fastest time ive seen from an XB, seeing as i havent started yet.
Obviously not everyone runnin the 1nz is going to post on dragtiimes but hope this has been educational to someone. Peace.

Exactly. I'm sure the 1NZ-FE could be built into a monster motor. However, most people do not find it cost effective to build up a 1NZ-FE because it needs a lot of massaging in order to make power. Like nitrodad said, it just depends on how much money you want to spend.

Most people don't buy xBs for speed because it just costs too much money to make one fast; not exactly the best performance car platform to start with.

i think scions are as decent a platform as any, but the parts are definately pricey and as of right now there are too many unknowns for the casual modder. personally, i don't like taking risks in regards to my car. let the rich blow up their motors so the poor can learn from their mistakes.

and i don't think a fast xa or xb is out of the question, i just think it's such an expensive task that most won't or can't invest that much into a proper forced induction set up. besides, these cars are pretty light. it doesn't take much to make them hustle.

Metal-

Not to start a fight with you, but this doesnt really prove anything. Anyone can sign up to that site and submit whatever garbage they want to. I hope you keep this in mind while reading stuff like this. Im not trying to kill all hope for the xB but when it comes to the internet, many times the only thing people are good for is typing.

The car claiming to run mid 12s has small problem with the mph, it seems too low for me for a FWD car... 106-108mph usually nets low 13s in a FWD.

Unfortunately the only way for anyone to back up claims like this is to have a video. Time slips arent even enough anymore.

metal, i couldnt agree with you more on this subject but at the same time, brianxb is right. also 11.5:1 is REALLY high for that much boost.

I SHIIT! Thats right Killer wsa runnin that compression but i didnt think it was him.. I pictured him driving TCM for some reason. haha.

Brian, no dispute about wat you said, its true some ,if not most, claims are false or bent. I made this post more so not to jack someones thread and then when i saw that 12 sec box i just had to post.

Also killerx has made claims here of mid 12 second passes

My current set up consist of aem cai, jic exhaust, custom 2.5'' piping to axle, aem standalone, aem map sensor holding up to 3.5 bar, aria pistons, custom port and polish job, regrind cam, hks gauges, hks gt2510 t3 turbo and gt2 wastegate, dc sport header, 103 octane gas (when dyno'd), custom intercooler, custom motor mounts, perrin fuel rail, 370cc injectors, custom rod, and then a few other little things.

Dyno graphs will be up in a matter of time, same with videos. I will say yes, i've hit mid-to-high 12's to low 13's with roughly 195-210whp. Couldn't get a steady figure but two dyno runs hit 200.x and 202.x so i'm saying i have 200whp since that appeared not only more than once, its pretty much in the middle of all numbers i hit. As far as torque goes, 190's. Lowest wtq hit was 184wtq, don't need all that torque in this car, makes it not as fun when you are trying to take it easy.

I know mpg is another question. I'm roughly hitting 17-20mpg all day on 93 octane.

Also if im not mistaken, he's runnin in an Auto. Which that personally makes me feel great. I run an Auto, and this is exactly what i want to accomplish if not more. I guess we will have to see wat the box can handle.

Only thing is, didn't he also blow up his motor? 11.5:1 Compression with 12.5psi is way too high. That would put estimated compression at around 20:1. Little too high for everyday 93 octane fuel.

Its listed 104 race gas or 103 but ya its like 20.23:1 compression ratio but i would run 8.5-9.5 pistons instead.

Its not impossible...

people been boosting b18c5 honda motors all the time..... they stock are like 11:1:1 compression...

you can boost a high compression motor just have to build and tune right.

Im not going to rip into anyone but I will say that I have a hard time believing anything that guy ever claimed about his car. Has anyone ever seen a video or even a person who could vouch? Did I miss some info somewhere? I remember he used to post alot then after all the claims started coming regarding how fast his car was running, his posting died quite a bit.

Running 12-15PSi of boost on higher compression engines is not uncommon. Like mentioned above. B-K series engine are being boosted while high in compression. If the engine was built with the right stuff and runs an excellent tune, high octane race fuel and maybe even water/methanol injection, it's for sure possible.

But for our cars what I don't like that's happening is that we are left standing in the cold! There's a lot of interest in people that fell in love with the model (charms) of the xa and xb, that want more performance from them, but have to pay top dollar for custom parts, because the industry is too busy to get things going for the new fashion, Honda Fit. I bet ya, that there is more parts already available for that car then it has been for ours. Why is it, because it's another honda?
I am starting to loose my interest that I can't do as much because there isn't much available and I don't have the money to have everything custom made.

I appreciate that there are people doing it and getting it done. Hats off to them!

And yes, anybody could post any information, don't believe everything unless it's backed up with some prove.
