Default Turbo ? lag related

Ok so I was experimenting with my setup which was running outragously rich like probably a 12.5:1 a/f. So I had in there 370cc injectors with a greddy e-manage which was supposedly tuned for them. So in an effort to lean it out, I switched out the injectors to the stock ones and disconnected the e-manage. Now it is running at about 13.5-14.5a/f @ 6psi. The idle is much better, the a/f is better, but the problem now is that it is very hard to boost. When I reach 3000-4000 RPMs the boost guage hits 0psi and the car bogs down and does not boost, however if I get past that point, at a higher RPM it boosts just fine.

Any Idea what would cause this? It boosted fine previously with the upgraded injectors and e-manage installed.

i don't know...leander a/f mean less exhaust gas to spool the turbo and it doesn't boost until it reaches a higher rpm where there is more exhaust gas to spool the turbo.

so you need it running richer to make more boost faster, kind of like the antilag/misfiring system. the system would intentionally misfire to help the turbo spool faster. your car is tuned to run richer to spool faster maybe?

it was supposed to be tuned slightly richer for safety reasons. While driving I noticed that it would bog down around 4000 rpms but if I down shifted from 5th to 4th over 4000 rpms it would boost fine. Also the unburnt fuel smell is gone, but it still throws a p0172 (excessively rich) which could be caused by the fouled o2 sensor.

do you think maybe the emanage is tuned for those specific injectors? i think the emange can control the injectors and tune them for duty cycle. but 12.5 afr isnt that rich like blown_xa is saying

Wow. If you boost anything ABOVE 13, say goodbye to your motor after a little while. You want to be around 11.2 - 11.8 WOT to have an awsome SAFE tune. TOO RICH is in the 10.2 area. You want the car to idle and cruise around 14.
