Edited to find an answer, I'm picking up an AEM Uego wideband and need to know where to tap into the pipe. I have a Strup header on, and a S/C up front. I'm guessing somewhere after the header connects to the exhaust but before the catalytic convertor. Also, do I just drill straight in and then weld? Does orientation matter, I'm thinking horizontal or angled with the sensor pointing a bit up inside the pipe would be easiest to drill.

Hmm, that seems like a bit more work then I first thought, but not out of the range of what can be done. Sucks they need to be top mounted, means I'll have to drop the pipe to install. I'll have to check clearance, might have a muffler shop do it instead. PTuning was asking $150 for a complete install, I think I'd be alright with the wiring and routing.
The only thing I didn't like in that link was them saying secure the LC-1 with zip ties. We've banned them for primary support for wiring on Navy aircraft due to their succeptability to breakdown under UV and fluid exposure (cleaners, fuel, oils, etc) conditions. They also have a tendancy to stretch enough to lose tension and slip off.
I'm wondering if I'd have gotten more views though if I kept my original title, "where does my bung hole go?"

"where does my bung hole go?" I think you & everyone else knows the answer......
The install is not as bad as you think. Some where around 10 to 2 oclock is fine, as long as the tip sheds.... A bottom mount is not good, in the side of the collector is ok as long as you have the length.

i run the aem wideband on my greddy kit about 6 inches behind were the downpipe meets the exhaust at about 3 degrees above horizontal. the 02 sensor sticks out quite a bit so make sure if you place it in this location you bend the heat shield up to clear the end of it.

If it's the header shield it won't be an issue, I'm running a Strup with no shield. Not sure if one was ever necessary since there's at least a foot between the header and firewall. Are you talking about the hard mounted shield on the floor pan?
yeah thats the one im talking about on the floor pan when i went catless i just unbolted it and removed it just make sure you have it above horizontal the aem 02 sensor is kinda touchy. dont be surprised either sometimes it looks like it goes offline and you get the three dashes --- on the gauge still working that one out...
