Default ZPI Turbo'd Auto xB 7.5 Psi-W/ pics and Vid

Alright guys and girls of Scion Life. Tommorow I will start my 13 hour journey from FL to ZPI Racing Headquarters in Louisville, KY. I will be dropping my 06 Auto xB off to Kenny and the crew for 9 days of customization. That's right, im going to be the auto guinea pig for their new turbo. So over the next 9 days the ZPI crew will be testing and tunning the car, till it's perfect and all us auto's can take part in the ZPI turbo experience. Also over the next 9 days ZPI wil be posting updates, hopefully some dyno numbers, pics, vids and answering any question's you might have.

The only bad part for me is that I will be on vacation for the whole 9 days (oh darn vacation) and won't be anywhere near a computer or the internet to see the cars progress. So you all will know more about whats going on with my car than I will. After the install, i will post updates on how the car is running, performing and ofcourse how enjoyable it is to have. So please don't be afraid to ask questions and as always comments are welcome.
Stay tuned.......

I now turn this thread over to ZPI Racing:

I know you guys are still in the early development stages on all of the xB/xA kits so I don't want to sound pushy. But I do have one word for you guys... CARB.

I know quite a few California natives would be quite happy if we could legally get the ZPI turbo over here.

And just to show you that us CA guys can try and do our part to help make it happen, here are a couple of links so you don't have to go searching.

Heck, if I knew how to fill the form out for you I would.

Glad to see you are the test subject and that your car is getting blown. Hopefully ZPI can pull off what they claim, then they will really turn some heads. In my eyes it's all about who can do it better, quicker, and more efficient.

Good luck on your 9 day journey!

What? Are you that scared, Billy? Now you have to go get a turbo setup before the Scion Drag race? hah... Now, where's that nitrous bottle?

Have a safe trip and hope all goes well!

CARB = California Air Resource Board

They basically crap over anything we try to do to our cars whether or not it runs cleaner than the original car, most of the time you fail the visual inspection and they never even know if the car would've passed the actual smog test.

Also, I second RTon20's I am waiting for a kit that is CARB legal, the creator will get my money. There's a pretty interesting ITB product coming out too, also looking at that.

Exactly what fcastle said. The thing about CARB exempt parts is that if you find the right smog shop and can pass the dyno sniffer you can run pretty much any part you want. The problems arise when a cop pulls you over for whatever reason and asks you to pop the hood. If he has been properly trained and sees anything out of the ordinary he can nail you right there for having "illegal equipment." And most times that leads to an impound.

Bottom line CARB exists only so that it can exist. It is just one more form of government bureaucracy here in CA that no one else has to deal with.

has anyone seen dyno numbers from their manual tranny turbo kit yet? Also, what will they do with your auto tranny to handle the extra power and tq?

Im back........ Let me tell you 27 hours in a car isn't fun. But my duaghter and I are back in FL safe and sound and now it's time to enjoy vacation.

I must tell you all if you are ever near Louisville, Ky, our want to make the trip, go to ZPI and stop in. Kenny, Keisha and Mark are some of the nicest and most down to earth people I have ever meet, they treated me and talked to me like they had known me for ever. Kenny gave me a tour of all the facilities and showed me all the tC's that they are hard at work on and some other great things that im proably not allowed to talk about yet. But beware of the big guard dog at the shop, she will eat you alive, LoL, Kenny you better watch out my daughter is gonna come steal Sofie (hope I spelled her name right).

I was going to try and answer the post above me, about the dyno and the what the auto tranny will hold, but im gonna let Kenny answer all this because he is the expert and i am not. But they are going to get my car on the dyno for a before and after number and im pretty sure it's going to blow away 116 hp.

Im off to vaction now, enjoy the thread and the progress of my car I will be back in 8 days to see the progress myself. And thanks again to Kenny, Keisha and Mark for their great hospitality and thanks Sofie for not biting me.

Remember the 116whp is with no aftermaket intake or exhaust. Since I have a dyno here, I will be dynoing gains from each modification added. I think its better to know what you get with each thing rather than spending a ton of money on things that might not have been needed. First thing I will do is bump the fuel pressure up, dyno, tune the emanage, add exhaust, dyno, tune, injectors, dyno, tune, fuel pump is necessary, dyno and tune.

I know they are talking about producing an ATF cooler and possibly an oil cooler. I brought a B&M one with me to be installed.
