Alex turbo's were changed because the 14B was a better match for our puny 1.5 engines vs. the 16G... The 16 G would not be at full spool until 3800 RPMs and you would almost have to stomp it all the time to boost.. With the 14 B you will be at full spool around 3000-3200 RPM's, which means even going at a partial throtle you will start to spool and at WOT you hit full spool so quick you wouldnt beleive.. Now if a person was building a monster WHP xB, they could have this system and change out to a 16G with no problems, becuase it has the same flanges/ mounts as the 14B..
I think it is very amusing that I said in june that the 16g was the wrong turbo and joey_wrx (a zpi employee) laughed. As stated before...

Quote:
HiFiScion: I still think that is the wrong turbo for the application but it does the trick. There are a few more that can spool up faster. That is more important to me. 3700 or so is O.K. I want 3400ish. That would be a great turbo.

Quote:
nester: I hope you're not talking about the turbo on our xB... or you're kidding? We ran a small 16g on a WRX at 269awhp... This is a big 16g.. ;) We've run this evo3 big 16g turbo over 300whp on a tC.. If you surpass that... We have Mitsu flanged turbos in stock and ready to bolt on..

Quote:
HiFiScion: Any performance shop should agree what is best for a WRX might not be the best application for a 1nz-fe. It definately runs good in a 1.5 liter but it was designed for 2.x liter motors. I just don't agree with your choice of turbo, that's all.

So I guess That ZPI finally agrees with my original statement back on June 1'st. Try to give a little advise to help them out and get laughed at. I guess Joey_WRX was laughing for a few months before he realized that I was right and they made the right changes to the 14b.

Personally we put a t28bb on my Xa and we hit full boost (7.5 psi) by 3000rpms. It spools faster than the t25 and produces more power.

Why must every thread turn into this.. I dont understand... Im so over this crap on SL... You want us to bow down to you and say your the man or somthing... Why bother bringing this to the thread.. is it really needed? Was gloating really necessary? Welcome to R&D.. you make mistakes and learn from them. ZPI thought the 16g was a good choice and it still is for those with 1.5's that want to make huge power out of there puny engines... But the 14b is a better choice for the DDers of the world... They lived and learned.. get over yourself and go gloat somwhere else and get over your it.........

I can not speak for instock of items or the price of the header.. but Kenny did mention to me a few weeks ago he had 75 headers coming in pretty soon.. But I will see if I can get them to chime in on the subject.

i believe they are about ready to ship....i know they have been welding round the clock trying to get the xB turbo's out as soon as they can. they have brought the turbo placement up a couple of inches from the pictures you have seen underneeth the car. they have taken the comments of "i dont think i'll get this because i am afraid it will hit on bumps or driveways" to heart and have change their design for the people of scion.

although i can not speak for zpi on when they will have their things done. but i know we will be the first to know when everything is finished and ready to ship.

So ZPI, are you working on the xA kit??? Im dying to get my hands on one of them... Please let me know if you have any new developments on the kit. I think it would help you to send me this kit and get some advertisment in Puerto Rico. Just let me know im ready and standing by.

lol yes...the xA kit "should" (just what i have heard/been told) just need a few differnt bends and welds in the piping to fit. they should/will be starting work on it as soon as they get the xB stuff shipping and caught up. that is just waht i've chatted about with kenny so you cant quote me on it.

sounds good, im just glad they have the ball rolling on the xA kit. I was thinking of doing the kit myself with parts here in PR, but its going to be alot more expensive and id rather by something thats tuned and tested rather then having to do all the R&D myself. Keep up the good work ZPI and hopefully my xA will be ZPI powered soon.
