Default '05 to '06 Stereo Swap

Anybody know if it's possible to do a clean swap? Meaning, if I wanted to have the new '06 stereo in my '05 along with the aux jack installed as in the '06 near the e brake.

for the aux jack swap you need to switch center consoles.

the deck works either way no problem.

be brave. you can always get a 3.5 mm input jack from radioshack/electronic store and do the job yourself.

only if your aftermarket deck has rca aux inputs. the stock decks as well as most pioneer decks as well as some others use ipbus. not a cheap easy radioshack option. if you got anywhere to get it pieced together for cheap lemme know.

oh my bad. I thought that aux jack pictured were 3.5 mm rca jack.
I did made a cheapo alternative, does not sound best but okay for my application.
my 3 yr. old used rf modulator, recycled 3.5 mm jack from old broken radio, some wiring, soldering and heat shrink tubes I got myself an aux jack.

This one is the standard radio. Ipod will not work on this radio

This one is the upgraded radio Ipod ready and you can change the color on the screen.

http://scion.com/showroom/xb/accessories/ go to sound system
it says there you can use your ipod, but have no control on the head unit. does that mean its an rca jack? someone open that AUX jack and take pic for us to see please?
oops, mis read it, needs mp3 players interface for the universal connector.
thanks,
