Default 05 xb...easiest way to get ipod to work?

I have looked on the fourms and havent really found a direct answer. I want to get my ipod to work through the radio. I have the stock pioneer single-disk radio. To get the ipod to work I have read about getting some wire that will work with the stock radio? I have also seen you need the 6-disk radio for the wire to work? Also have read that there are two wires not one? Then I have seen others say its just easier to buy an aftermarket radio/cd unit? So I am just wondering what the easiest will be? Thanks

Check ebay.. There is a wire that is made that plugs into the AUX/Sat port on the back.. I believe you control your ipod via the ipod, not through the head unit itself.. Whats your Radio unit number.. should say on the front in the lower right corner.. Something like.. t1809.. t1808.. That would help a lot in choosing the right wire..

i upgraded to the t1806 radio because i the 05 does not have the plug in the back. i'm using the peripheral kit. there's a DIY for installing it in the tech section. i just looked up on ebay. this is what i have.

i bought the harness separately, it's the same for toyota/scion which only cost about 10-15 bucks. if you have a newer ipod model, you can just look for an adapter on ebay. the adapter lets you charge the ipod. it will still play if you don't get the adapter. all this will only work for the newer model of factory radio, i'm assuming t1806 and up.

you can get a new headunit. a double din is kinda pricey. single din can be pretty cheap around 80+. but it will probably leave a gap in your middle section.

yea it should. but if you're going to end up spending $100 + might as well get an aftermarket double din that has a usb port in the front.

pioneer. USB charges while the AUX will not. AUX plugs into the headphone hole.

Great cyber week deals right now for Headunits. I have an Ipod play and charge wire, and a USB slot in a double din Pioneer.
