Default 06 Stock hu volume fluctuation

This might be addressed somewhere else, but the search tool wasn't pulling up what I wanted. Does anyone have an issue with volume fluctuation on their stock hu? I was playing a cd and I would notice that sometimes it would suddenly lower itself and later raise back to normal volume. There was no visible change in the actual volume level and it would occur mid song. It was almost as if there was some kind of auto limiting or smart sound kind of thing you would see on a television set. This happened with an mp3 disc and also a burned audio cd (not the same songs). Thanks.

i think that is what the ASL feature does. when you go from being stopped and then start driving, the engine and outside environmental noise gets louder so it makes ur radio louder so it doesnt get drowned out by all the new noises. if you set it at high, you can really notices changes in volume as you start driving.

If the 06 HU has this feature I want one more than I did before. My g/f has a lexus with this feature. Very handy when commuting around the city. Damnit

Not recommending this but you could tell the dealer your CD eject is not working properly and then see if they will put in a 06 HU in your 05 tC. But then can you put the 06 in a 05??

Ah I see so it is that ASL setting on high. It really is a bit too noticeable for me so I think I will adjust it to a lower setting. Thanks a lot.

What about when they go in and try to eject a cd? Trust me I have thought about this. Maybe just push a button, like the volume, more than normal or a bit harder. What if I did this and they dont give me the new HU or even better they give me another 05 HU? It is dishonest and karma will come back and deal its relevant action. This is why I didn't try it.
