chris foster, formerly of AutoSound in hayward, now owner of RockStar Customs in Tracy, has done the "subs under the seats" for at least a dozen cars (xb's) already...and youre right...it sounds bangin

I have been thinking about where to place subs in the car and I like the idea of under the front seats.. Did you / would you face the subs straight up or face them slanted back?

what does the subs under seat thing feel like. i'd like to put an 8 under each seat but i don't want the family jewels to get shaken up too badly

Having the sub under the seat wouldn't that muff the sound? Since the sub is facing directly towards the bottom of the seat.

I have 2 10 inch cerwin vega's under my front seats...no the jewels dont get juggled that much...actually it is kinda like getting a soothing back massage and the sound is not muffled at all...well worth it. Check with Autosound (Chris), hes the man and can build them quickly

you can PM autosound (chris)...let him know youre coming out to one of the meets and someone should have their system by chris there. or he'll come out himself...

the subs sound great under the seat, as far the dimensions go they are slightly different from one side to the other........ as far as being muffled, the bass sounds really great and tight under the seats the downfall is only a couple of subs work good under neath there if you use some others the bass is real boomy

best sounding that i have used under the seat is
arc audio 10d4
image dynamic idq
alumapro
cerwin vega

i have also used the arc kar which are a little more boomy, so basically its the kind of bass you are looking for....... now im sure there are other woofers that would sound great but remember you are limited to the depth of the woofers.....

has anybody heard directed studio subs or have any comments about them. I want to do a setup with 2 10's under the front seats and maybe 2 12's in the rear. Has anybody heard of this kind of setup before?
