I don't see why not. Would likely take 3/4 or more of the trunk though.

As long as he's not trying to compete in SQ competitions, it won't be detremental to the quality.....what it will do is make that 15 into a LFE Monster!!!!!

I have a 15" Resonant Engineering HC (Last years model; this years model is called SX) and it took up the entire trunk in my xB. I built my box to the recommendations of Resonant Engineering which was 3.5cuft ported for SQL. It sounded great until it broke my amp ... For the XXX they recommend 4cuft ported to 27hz for SQL. All i can say is good luck making a box that big... If made properly that thing will probably shatter your car into pieces. Good luck, just remember you have to account for the displacement of the sub and the port doesnt count in displacement of the box so you'll need 4cuft + port - displacement of sub.

omg , i got a awesome deal, $340 shipped from across the country, and now i feel so bad because im getting some negative remarks about the trunk space. BUT**, i might also use the spare tire well if worst comes to worst, anyone know if its possible and have any box suggestions?

fiberglass it and it can be quite large, ALOT more work tho for an all fiberglass box but alot easier to ge tall that airspace out of the trunk

actually dude, just run it sealed, it should only need like, 2-2.5 cubes sealed. and it'll still pound the hell out of your face for $340

I am planning on getting a 12" XXX but later on in my car's lifespan since right now the rest of the system is stock. I thought it'd be a waste and I wouldn't be able to hear anything else but bass

$350 for a 15" is not too bad. That makes me happy. I wonder how it compares to a JL or Diamond Audio sub... or one of those RF monsters that look like conga drums (those are so sweet!). I just bought an MRD-M605 and I think what I'll do when I set up to buy the XXX is buy another alpine amp and hook one up to each voice coil. 600w to each coil is gonna be love. For right now, the Infinity sub will have to do.

But you should really put that thing in a sealed box... 4cuft. of box space is your entire hatch and spare tire well. You're gonna shatter your rear window. LOL

But to answer your question, some dude put a 15" Kicker Solo Baric in his xA, so yeah... I'm gonna guess that you can fit the 15" in the tC.

I wouldn't worry about shattering any glass....it takes A LOT to do that......

I'm figuring, since you've got this massive 15" woofer, why not use it to its full potential and have a ported box.....SQL's are great setups.....besides, who would use a XXX in a straight SQ setup???

Default 15 in mine

I have a RF HE 15" in my tC, (only $150) and I built a custom box (sealed) 2.5 cubic feet, w/ an RF p3002 amp and it hits really hard, but it takes up 2/3rds of the trunk.

I could post pics if anyones interested.
