Default 2005 XB Ipod Touch.

I've searched the threads and can't come up with a straight answer. Can anyone help me out? I have a 2005 XB with the base model pioneer head unit. I would like to hook up my ipod directly to it. No FM transmitter. Can this be done and what do I need? Thanks.

You will need a new CD player for a direct plug in. The 05 model OEM player is not i-pod compatible. Might wanna check out the lower end Pioneer and Alpine players. They will have the option for i-pod and usually cost around $100.

Yep he's correct. There are 3 factory options that can work and that would be an +06/07 Premium H/U or an 08 Base or Premium Unit. They range from about $70 to about $200. 08 Premium has a high prices because of the preout's in the back.

But all of these are plug and play with the 05 harness and would just require the Ipod Cable which runs around $70 on ebay

I personally went with an 08 Premium unit but that is because I wanted to maintain my steering wheel controls and also have preout for amp but still maintain the factory look to keep prying eye from thinking I have a system

bestbuy search: the isimple integrates with your stock headunit for the 05. i had the previous model of the isimple on my 05 which needed a slight modification, but upgraded to an 08 scion headunit bc the interface is better. PM me if you want to buy my old isimple, its set for the 05, plug and play ready.
