I have had three customers say it is happening to them also. I told them to come in and we will replace the radio and see if that takes care of the problem. The dealership should be able to warranty it for you, even if they can't get it to do it. Bring in a copy of this post or something.

Also, I have to say that gjpjr84-your avatar totally freaks me out. I thought I was imagining it moving so I sat and watched it until it moved again.

Mine does it when I start the car. It will shift to just after I start the engine, and maybe it has happened a few times while driving. But usually it is right after starting the engine. Happens pretty often actually.

Has anybody gone to the dealership yet to get it checked out and see what they said?

I'm going to get my first oil change this weekend. I'll mention it to the dealer and see what they have to say.

Yeah.. I thought it was just me. I get the tunning thing when I'm listening to the radio sometimes and the track restart when playing cds.. However, mine only does this when I adjust the volume. Has anybody actually had the unit replaced?

I have noticed the same thing. Mine shifts frequency when just driving around AND when adjusitng the volume **** (sometimes). Will bring it up with the dealer. Unfortunatly I just had my first free oil change and it will be a while before I go back - but with this thread I will have more inof to discuss with the dealer and Toyota! Thanks.

Same radio, '06 tC, same problem but only when it is cold. It always tunes itself upward. Also if I try to backup a little bit on a CD it will stick and rewind all the way to the beginning.

Default Radio Changing

Yup, definitely have had this happen to me too...I thought it was an automatic feature that changed the station when it gets out of range, but i never got out of range

Any fixes?

I'm getting tired of dealing with these shananagans!

The dealership in S.F. told me. Well duplicate the problem and we'll talk, otherwise I cannot do anything for you

Default My radio!

I noticed when my car is cold my radio seems a bit slow when turning up the volume or changing stations etc.

Has anyone had any problems setting up there satelite(Sirius to be exact)?

My girlfriend said it was changing on her, and thought she was just crazy. Then one day while riding in her car, we hit a bump and the FM station changed. Definitly not an isolated case here.

I have expirience this problem as well, but only when the outside temp is below 45 degrees. The first thing I notice is that the LCD for the radio sucks at low temps. It looks faded and it is really slow to change. If I try to increase the volume, the station will change. If I am listening to 106.1 it goes to 106.9 and so on. Today was the first time the radio change stations on its own. I came to a stop and the radio just change to a different station. Once the heater brings the inside temp to anything above 45 the radio will get back to normal. This presents a problem if I take it to the dealership. I would have to drive with the heater off to be able to show the problem to the mechanic. So far is a problem I can live with.

I talked to the Toyota Dealership about two weeks ago. The service deptartment said it is a warranty item and they will swap it out, but they would have to order the radio. I got a call last week from Toyota service they said Pioneer knows about the issue and they are working on it trying to figure out what the issue is. I said I would be happy to do the swap and see what happens over the next few months "being thier guinea pig" and reporting back. Service said that he would talk to Pioneer and his supervisor and get back with me.

I will keep everybody posted about what happens.

Also, does this only happen in the standard radio, single disc player or is it also happening in the upgraded radio?
