Default 2006 TC

I am going to buy a 06 flint mica auto. My girl has an 05. The guy at the dealership told me on the phone that the stereo has an optional IPOD connector, Steering wheel mounted volume and tunner controls, and the radios have ***** instead of buttons?? Can any of you verify this for me???? Also, do they all come with those bridgestone potenzas that are like 200 a tire for a 215/45/17?????

Thank you!!

you have a mp3 hookup not a ipod connector unless you upgrade the stero to a 6 cd changer. Yes they have a volume and tuner controls on teh steering wheel. the standard cd player has a **** for volume control. I have those tires on my 06 .

The guy specifically told me it was for the IPOD and controled the IPOD like the button on the IPOD itself. He said is is made by poineer and charges the IPOD also. It uses the connection at the buttom of the IPOD, NOT the headphone jack....He said he has a demo of it if i want to see it.

The Ipod connection is an option, Radio functions on the steering wheel and the ***** on the radio are now standard. As to answer your questions about the tires, My sis and I bought two brand new '06 tC's on the same day hers Flint Mica mine Nautical Blue Metallic. Hers came with the Bridgestone Potenzas. Mine came with some Yokohamas, not sure which one but I know there Yokohamas.

I believe for the Ipod to work on the Stock head unit, not the upgrade, the Ipod would have to be controlled through the Ipod. With the upgrade you can control it through the head unit. If I'm wrong please correct me.

So the iPod unit is a 6-CD unit as well?

No. Silver Streak Mica and Indigo Ink Pearl exterior colors will be replaced with Classic Silver Metallic and Nautical Blue.

Here's a link with all the changes:

Not sure about the silver, but the Indigo Ink Pearl (05 color) is apparently a very slightly lighter blue than the Nautical Blue Metallic (06 color). If you need some NBM pics, check my profile.

I'm waiting for my iPod package: from what I've gained, the dummy button that's located inside the uhhh, what's it called, well, cargo thing between the two front seats is replaced with an iPod cord. You put the cord directly into your iPod and voila. You also get a new head unit, where the buttons that kind of look like this = flanking the center volume dial are replaced with two more *****.

I'm not sure if the new head unit displays the playing track, or if the steering wheel controls will be able to manipulate the iPod.

It's fine...some times it doesn't hurt to go directly to Scion.com for some answers though. The Search option here on scionlife is useful as well.

In regards to the "new" colors, there is a claim to a different shade between CSM/SSM and NBM/IIP. The others are the same.

NBP is slighly darker than IIP, and CSM is lighter than SSM.

Here, I did a little searching to get you a picture of the head unit and the cord in that compartment to which I don't know the name. Check out this guy's pictures...

*EDIT* Oh, and I found a brief explanation of the workings of the head unit in conjunction with the iPod here.

Scroll a little past 1/2 way down the page and read shadowhawk's post.
