Default 5x7's

Hey all,

has anyone put 5x7's in the rear? I have some nice JBL power's from a previous car, so I might as well use them plus I'de say they would be better then 6.5's.
To not cut into the car I was thinking about custom cutting some wood spacer adapters to bring it out a bit so the magnet would sit in the hole.

anyone do anything like this? any tips are welcome!

thanks!

You will need to cut the car or cut the panel to make room.

but I don't see why, there's some good space in between the panel and the factory speaker even, which sits pretty high off the car. Unless you mean behind the panel and not a hole through it.
I figure i'm going to try and install the 5x7 as deep as i can in the factory hole, and then make a bracket only as thick as I need to, to bring it up enough and see if the panel will fit.

i personally don't care for oddly shaped audio drivers. because it's an odd shape, the cone is never properly centered correctly and eventually die out on you MUCH faster.

i would have just stuck with 6.5" drivers, unbeatable construction quality compare to oblong shaped drivers.

well I already have them and they are bran new... but they are kinda like the same as 6x9's, and you can't deny that they wont last too, otherwise nobody would run them.
