Default Aftmkt deck, poor fm reception. HELP!

So, I put my own deck in when I purchased my car. Kenwood sirius ready setup. Got the sirius of course so I hardly listen to the radio. Well the other day I turned it to my favorite local station. So im not getting any stations, its just static. I pulled the deck to make sure that the antenna was plugged in and it was. So im assuming since i dont see an atenna that is part of the rear glass. And wondering if its a powered antenna and i didnt hook up the wire or what. HELP!!!

Well it's not a power antenna, it's an amplified antenna and it does have to be turned on for good FM reception.

Here is a link to all the factory wiring colors for the radio and etc.. You will just need to hook the blue wire from you radio or blue/white stripe to the factory black/red to turn the antenna on.

Ok, after further digging I found that I did not have the antenna amplifier hooked up. I made the connection and now everything is perfect. Thanks for the help guys.

Seems to be a pretty common problem. The aftermarket HU instructions say the wire is for a power antenna- and we all know scions don't have a power antenna...

But they do, it's just a different kind of power antenna...
