Default Air suspension gauges question????

For those who are on air, where have you mounted your gauges?

Thanks!

I have been contemplating Air suspension...havent done it but... We thought that the windshield post mounted gauge clusters that you can buy would be the best place for the air guages (unless of course you already have such a cluster with other gauges). I have seen a 3 gauge cluster like this for the XB . That is enough space for 3 air gauges, one for total system pressure and 2 dual needle gauges monitoring all 4 corners.

The thing we didnt decide is where to put the control switches (I am not hot on the box you hold in your hand idea). On the console or on the lip at the bottom of the drivers dash is what we felt would work for me.

Unless you want them for asthetic value, you really dont need guages. Ive run airride setups in several vehicles and i never used guages. They usually tend to leak and you will never get the pressures even because of driving conditions, passengers etc. Its easier to run without them.

If you are going to run air, i would advise going with a 6 valve setup as oppossed to the standard 8 valves. 2 valves FR, 2 valves FL, 2 valves REAR teed off. You will still get side to side by adjusting the front switches and the rear air will transfer. The 6 valve setup is easier to adjust for riding because you can just lower the rear and then adjust your fronts side to side to square off. Just my .02 Have fun.

That rear air transfer is exact why you would want to run 8 valves as opposed to 6. This will have a negative affect on handling. It is definitely worth the small additional cost for the two extra valves.
