Oh my, someone find out if they can be programmed for the xB remote entry. I might have to snap one of these up.

Default key alarm

I E-mailed the guy on Ebay who's selling this to find out if it can be cut for an xB, he hasn't responded back.

You can definitely program it to use on any aftermarket alarm but I just don't know about starting the car since the key has a chip inside that sends signal to the engine.

it seems the tC key and the xB key are the same but I heard from one of our Scion techs that in order to get said key to work you would need to finagle some wiring which could turn out to be a serious hassle..

looks like both keys are on a tr47 (gerneric #)
I got a feeling this wont work,,Im not sure why...perhaps you need some servos from the tC alarm? or some sort of relay from the tC??

Has anyone else considered that it might not be such a good idea to have the alarm remote attached to the ignition key?

Lose your key and the finder not only knows what kind of car it goes to, but also has a way of making the car identify itself in the lot and, finally, of defeating the alarm and starting the car!

Better to keep the key and remote separate!

Well, I do see your point- But with Scion being so "rare" in most parts of the country- if someone finds your key in the parking lot (regaurdless of the fob being attached)- Their going to find your scion!

That is a good point but people with a remote seperate from the key dont have a seperate key ring for the remote and a seperate one for the key. Usually the remote and key are on the same key ring.
